ABOUT US
As L.A.'s premier performing arts destination, The Music Center convenes artists, communities and ideas with the goal of deepening the cultural lives of every resident in Los Angeles County. The non-profit performing arts organization with an annual budget of $80 million has three divisions: TMC Arts, TMC Ops and TMC Business Services. TMC Arts, The Music Center s programming engine, provides year-round programming inside The Music Center s four theatres-Walt Disney Concert Hall, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Ahmanson Theatre and Mark Taper Forum-as well as on Jerry Moss Plaza, at Gloria Molina Grand Park, and in schools and neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles County. TMC Ops manages the theatres, Jerry Moss Plaza and Gloria Molina Grand Park, which comprise $3 billion in county assets, on behalf of the County of Los Angeles. TMC Business Services includes Advancement, Human Resources, Finance, Tech Services, and Marketing and Communications. The Music Center is also home to four renowned resident companies-Center Theatre Group, Los Angeles Master Chorale, LA Opera and LA Phil. Job Summary The Events Crew supports performances, rehearsals, and special events throughout The Music Center by assisting with the setup, operation, and breakdown of event equipment and furnishings. This is an event-driven, on-call role with schedules based on operational needs, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Events Crew members play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and guest-ready event spaces. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Assist with setup and breakdown of event spaces, including staging, seating, dance floors, stanchions, and furniture Support technical and operational needs such as fountain plugs, marketing/poster installation ( three sheets ), and seating resets Transport equipment and supplies across campus as needed Perform fire watch roaming responsibilities when assigned Operate basic operations equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and electric carts (with appropriate training) Follow all OSHA and workplace safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment Communicate clearly and promptly with supervisors and team members; escalate issues when necessary Contribute to a safe, welcoming, and positive guest experience for all patrons and artists Perform additional duties as assigned based on event and operational needs Required Skills Valid California Driver s License Demonstrated ability to receive direction, process information and execute assigned tasks accurately and efficiently. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to take direction and adapt to changing event needs Ability to follow established workplace conduct, safety and operational protocols. Capability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays Desired Skills Prior experience in event setup, stagehand work, or operations support a plus High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Ability to read and interpret event layouts, diagrams, and basic measurements Experience operating basic material-handling equipment/ willingness to be trained Physical Requirement Lift, carry up and move up to 70lbs Frequent bending, stooping, climbing and reaching Work Environment Perform duties both indoors and outdoors and my be exposed to various weather conditions
SCHEDULE
This is a part-time position. Work hours will vary based on schedules and operational needs and may range from approximately 5 to 25 hours per week. Days and times worked will also vary depending on current and upcoming events.
Hourly Pay Rate:
$25.50. This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
