This role is ideal for someone comfortable making frequent phone calls, building relationships, following up consistently, and representing the LA, Inc. brand with professionalism and enthusiasm. The PR & Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in promoting Living Advantage, Inc.'s programs, events, campaigns, upcoming book release, and the new LA, Inc. Spectrum commercial. This position requires strong communication skills, creativity, persistence, organization, and the ability to connect with community partners, influencers, media contacts, donors, sponsors, and event participants. Key Responsibilities Public Relations & Outreach Heavy Outreach on the phones and email are a MUST! Make frequent outbound calls to partners, donors, sponsors, media contacts, influencers, vendors, and community supporters. Build and maintain strong relationships with individuals, organizations, businesses, and public figures who can support LA, Inc.'s mission. Secure marketing opportunities, in-kind donations, speaking opportunities, influencer partnerships, event collaborations, and brand exposure. Follow up consistently with contacts to move conversations forward and secure commitments. Support outreach connected to Pamela R. Clay's book promotion, including media pitches, interview opportunities, launch support, and community engagement. Help promote the new LA, Inc. Spectrum commercial and use it as a tool to increase awareness, donor engagement, and community support. Marketing & Brand Management Help protect, strengthen, and promote the Living Advantage, Inc. brand across all platforms. Assist in creating marketing campaigns that increase awareness of LA, Inc.'s programs, services, events, and fundraising efforts. Develop marketing materials, flyers, social media graphics, email content, and promotional assets using Canva. Ensure all materials are consistent with LA, Inc.'s voice, mission, colors, messaging, and professional standards. Identify new opportunities to expand LA, Inc.'s visibility through media, community events, partnerships, and digital platforms. Social Media & Digital Communications Support the planning, creation, scheduling, and posting of social media content. Assist with growing engagement across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube. Research and connect with influencers, content creators, community leaders, and brands aligned with foster youth, education, workforce development, and community impact. Monitor social media activity, respond professionally when needed, and help track engagement. Create youth-friendly, donor-friendly, and partner-friendly content that supports LA, Inc.'s mission. Website & Content Management Update and manage website content through Wix, including events, stories, campaigns, donation pages, program updates, and announcements. Ensure the website is accurate, current, visually professional, and aligned with active campaigns. Assist with writing and posting blogs, news stories, event recaps, and promotional updates. Event Planning & Community Engagement Support the planning, promotion, and execution of workshops, fundraising events, mixers, book promotions, community events, and campaign activations. Help secure guests, speakers, sponsors, vendors, influencers, and attendees for events. Make confirmation calls, follow-up calls, and reminder calls to increase attendance and participation. Assist with event logistics, run-of-show documents, registration lists, check-in materials, and post-event follow-up. Represent LA, Inc. professionally during events, meetings, and outreach activities. Administrative & Data Management Maintain accurate contact lists, outreach trackers, sponsor lists, media lists, influencer lists, and follow-up records. Enter and update information in databases, spreadsheets, CRM systems, and contact management platforms. Track calls, responses, next steps, commitments, and deadlines. Prepare reports on outreach activity, campaign progress, social media performance, and event engagement. Provide general administrative support to the PR, Marketing, Development, and Outreach teams as needed. Required Qualifications 5-7 years of experience in PR, marketing, outreach, communications, event planning, professional administration, sales, development, or a related field. Strong phone communication skills and confidence in making a high volume of calls. Proven ability to build relationships, make connections, and follow up professionally. Experience with social media platforms and digital marketing. Experience creating marketing content using Canva. Experience updating and managing websites, preferably Wix. Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Strong administrative skills, including data entry, contact management, and tracking outreach. Excellent organization, time management, and follow-through. Ability to represent the organization professionally with partners, donors, influencers, media contacts, and community members. Comfortable negotiating partnerships, sponsorships, event support, donated services, and promotional opportunities. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with nonprofits, youth-serving organizations, foster youth, education, workforce development, or community outreach. Experience in pitching media, securing interviews, or coordinating PR opportunities. Experience supporting book launches, public campaigns, commercials, fundraising campaigns, or brand partnerships. Existing relationships with community partners, influencers, media outlets, businesses, or sponsors in Los Angeles. Familiarity with email marketing platforms, donor platforms, CRM systems, Givebutter, Salesforce, SimpleTexting, or similar tools.
