King Harbor Yacht Club Reports To:
General Manager / Vice Commodore Position Summary The Membership Manager serves as the steward of the club's membership program and a key ambassador for King Harbor Yacht Club. This role ensures a seamless, professional, and welcoming member experience while supporting membership growth through strategic marketing, outreach, and club promotion consistent with California private yacht club standards. The position manages the full membership lifecycle, supports governance processes, and promotes the club's culture, traditions, and value proposition to prospective and current members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Membership Administration & Member Experience Oversee the complete membership process from inquiry through approval, onboarding, and resignation. Prepare, distribute, and track all membership applications and documentation. Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current members regarding membership matters. Coordinate posting periods, interviews, and committee reviews in accordance with club bylaws. Ensure a professional onboarding experience for new members, including welcome materials and orientation support. Marketing, Outreach & Club Promotion Support membership growth by assisting with marketing initiatives, outreach efforts, and promotional activities. Collaborate with the General Manager and committees to communicate the club's amenities, events, and lifestyle benefits to prospective members. Assist with the preparation and distribution of membership-related communications, presentations, and materials. Participate in member events, open houses, and community-facing activities to promote the club and foster engagement. Maintain a positive, professional public image of King Harbor Yacht Club at all times. Governance & Committee Support Attend committee meetings and accurately record official minutes. Serve as administrative liaison to the Membership Committee. Maintain official membership records, committee logs, and historical documentation. Financial & Operational Coordination Coordinate with Accounting on initiation fees, dues, escrows, refunds, and reimbursements. Process member resignations professionally and confidentially. Track and prepare monthly membership and status reports. Professional & Administrative Support Provide backup support for front office and administrative operations as needed. Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion in all membership, financial, and governance matters.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma required; post-secondary education or business training preferred.
Experience:
Minimum two years of experience in membership services, private clubs, hospitality, or administrative roles.
Skills:
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational ability, attention to detail, discretion, and computer proficiency.
Physical:
Ability to perform routine clerical tasks and lift up to 40 pounds.
Schedule:
Part-Time position with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for meetings, events, and peak seasonal activity.
