JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, identify and create opportunities to build Club's Brand and public awareness of Club services, programs, and activities. Adapt or create messages and vehicles for promoting upcoming events or programs to the public and members, including newsletters, public service announcements, flyers, social media posts, email messing, etc. Evaluates the success of strategy, materials, and media and modify as necessary. Work closely with program and management staff to determine potential audiences and the best approaches.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership Develop and implement marketing and public relations strategies designed to build appreciation and support for Club's Brand, programs, services, and activities. Strategic Planning Contribute to operational strategic planning, identifying opportunities to promote Club's Brand, services, programs, events, and activities to specific constituents or the public at large. Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve Club's Brand, marketing and public relations activities. Develop monthly and yearly calendars regarding upcoming events, social media, email marketing, etc. Partnership Development Develop collaborative partnerships with Club staff, volunteers, members, parents, supporters, other Clubs, media contacts, consultants, vendors, and other not-for-profit organizations to establish professional links within the community. Resource Management Contribute to attaining financial support by building the Club's base of support through Brand Awareness, marketing and public relationships campaigns. Understand social media platform strategies for increasing participation and financial support. Design and update website content for programs and events. Control marketing and public relations expenditures against budget. Manage vendors and freelance consultants to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of products and services. Establish and maintain procedures and formats for marketing and public relations materials and activities. Understand Boys & Girls Clubs of America marketing standards. Continuously develop knowledge of best practices to market events, fundraising strategies, Club programs, services, Brand Awareness and activities within the community.
Additional Responsibilities:
Ensure design and development of presentations and public relations materials for use in the promotion of fundraising, and education of the public, including press releases. Ensure the development and distribution of marketing documents. To create content, oversee program goals, and the corporate relationship with Apple for the Apple Community Initiative/Apple Creates.

Internal:
Maintains oral and written contact with the Executive Team, Board of Directors, staff peers, and volunteers for the exchange of information, to provide progress reports regarding activities and planning programs, and coordinate events.
External:
Maintains oral and written contact with other agencies, business leaders, community groups, Boards of Directors of such organizations, and the media to exchange information and ideas for fundraising.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
College degree or equivalent. Two or three years of progressively responsible experience in marketing and public relations, including media relations. Superior writing, editing, and verbal communications skills. Strong project management, administrative and organizational skills, including supervision of vendors, suppliers, and consultants. Knowledge of desktop publishing and usual computer applications including Photoshop. Able to manage multiple priorities and be attentive to details. Knowledge of accessing and managing donor databases and email marketing systems. Mandatory CPR, First Aid, and AED Certifications. Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
1. Use of hands and upper extremities to type and operate computers. 2. Manual dexterity to repair equipment. 3. Ability to lift 25-50 pounds. 4. Ability to sit, stand and walk to supervise members.
