Job Description

Job Summary The Marketing & Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating SEEAG's event programming in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties while supporting the organization's overall marketing and communications efforts. This position serves as the primary coordinator for all SEEAG event planning, outreach, volunteer engagement, and event logistics, while also assisting with social media, website updates, content creation, media relations, and organizational storytelling. Working closely with the Executive Director, Development Team, and Education Team, this role helps ensure the success of SEEAG's signature public outreach programs while advancing the organization's mission through effective communications and community engagement. Key Tasks & Responsibilities Marketing & Communications Support (60% of Position's Time): Digital Content Creation & Maintenance Develop and implement annual marketing and communications plans aligned with organizational goals. Strategize, create and schedule content for all websites, newsletters, social media platforms, and community calendars. Work to grow audiences across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging channels. Create engaging content including graphics, videos, stories, reels, and campaigns. Oversee annual marketing budget for paid print, digital and social media. Monitor comments and messages received on platforms and engage online. Maintain and update website(s) content to ensure accuracy and relevance. Assist with photography, videography, and content collection during events, farms tours, and educational programs. Organize and maintain these files as part of SEEAG's digital media assets. Track and report on marketing performance metrics to inform future strategy. Communications & Outreach Coordinate SEEAG's external communications across social media, newsletters, website content, promotional materials, blogs, interviews, and press outreach for all of SEEAG's programs. Create compelling written and visual content for newsletters, blogs, email campaigns, websites, and promotional materials, with an emphasis on storytelling that highlights organizational impact. Coordinate promotional materials including flyers, digital advertisements, signage, and sponsorship collateral, and annual reports. Collaborate with staff, sponsors, community partners, and volunteers to amplify outreach efforts. Event Coordination (40% of Position's Time): Program Planning & Participant Engagement Coordinate communications with participating locations, vendors, donors, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners throughout the year. Lead the recruitment and onboarding new participating locations, volunteers, and community collaborators for all of SEEAG's annual events. Travel between counties for meetings and other event-related planning activities on a regular basis. Provide oversight, mentorship and direction to program interns supporting Farm Day(s) planning, preparation, and communications ensuring a positive and educational learning experience. Event Logistics & Administrative Management Coordinate and support the operational, logistical, and administrative functions necessary for the successful planning and execution of organizational programs and events. Maintain accurate records, databases, and tracking systems to support event planning, participant management, sponsorship fulfillment, and organizational reporting. Oversee event-related logistics and operational processes, ensuring a seamless experience for participants, volunteers, sponsors, and guests. Prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and a high level of organizational effectiveness. Develop, document, and refine procedures and workflows to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and the overall quality of programs and events. Evaluate program and event outcomes, gather stakeholder feedback, and recommend improvements to enhance future planning and participant experiences. Education and/or Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, Digital Media, or a related field. Business or Organization Graphic Design:
Proficient in Adobe Creative Program Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and
Canva Photography and Videography:
Experience in taking, editing, and selecting photos and videos
Web Design:
Experience in website management using Squarespace and WordPress is highly preferred Strong leadership, decision-making, and collaboration skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships within teams and across diverse demographic groups. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is Preferred Experience or interest in agriculture, food systems, education, or nonprofit organizations is preferred.

Event Coordination:
Consistently works to provide a positive event experience for all locations and attendees, is communicative and responsible, and enjoys coordination and planning activities. Maintains positive working relationships with participating farms, ranches, agricultural businesses, and community organizations.
Travel:
Has a valid drivers license, reliable mode of transportation, and is willing and able to drive distances of up to 2 hours to farm locations in two counties on a regular basis.

The incumbent can expect exposure to typical office conditions, such as sitting for prolonged periods, working with a computer, and using office equipment. However, when working outside on farms and other outdoor locations, the incumbent can expect exposure to a variety of environmental conditions, which may include:
Noise:
When working on farms or in schools, the incumbent may be exposed to loud noises from machinery, equipment, or students.
Dust:
When working on farms, the incumbent may be exposed to dust and other particulate matter from farming activities.
Heat:
When working outside in the summer months, the incumbent may be exposed to high temperatures and heat stress.
Cold:
When working outside in the winter months, the incumbent may be exposed to cold temperatures and inclement weather.
Pay:
$26.00 - $30.00 per hour
