Summary:
The Humanities Truck Student Project Assistant supports mobile, community-based public humanities programming and research. Project Assistants assist with planning and facilitating events that bring humanities scholarship into conversation with local communities. They will also support sub-grant projects. This role provides hands-on experience in public humanities practice, event facilitation, and community-engaged scholarship.Essential Functions:
Support planning and delivery of Humanities Truck events. Assist with event set-up, breakdown, and engaging with participants. Assist with research related to current projects.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part-time. 10 hours per week.Salary Range:
$18.00 per hour.Required Education and Experience:
Current undergraduate or graduate student at American University. Strong communication and organizational skills. Interest in public humanities, public history, museums, or community engagement. Ability to work collaboratively and engage diverse audiences. Willingness to work outdoors and assist with transporting equipment.
