Job Description

Job Summary This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for a current student to gain valuable work experience while contributing to the success of Lake Sumter State College. The Student Assistant will provide essential support, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure efficient operation of departmental activities. This is a part-time position with an expected commitment not to exceed 25 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate the student's academic and other responsibilities. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC's values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating. Students cannot work during class meeting times. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist and support the Coordinator of Student Activities with daily tasks Assist in promoting annual events and updating online event software (Presence) Communicate event details to the college stakeholders, such as the Marketing Department Assist with the planning and execution of campus-wide events Attend meetings when a student representative is requested Update campus-wide bulletin boards with relevant material Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Strong Organizational and multitasking skills Working knowledge of social media Excellent Verbal and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Demonstrated commitment to professionalism and confidentiality Competency-based Education (CBE) Goals Addressed in this
