Job Description

Under the direction of the Director Public Health, the Public Health Promotions and Education Coordinator should be a Nurse or Medical Assistant. This position will work collaboratively with hospital leadership team, Board of Health, Board of Supervisors, Medical staff and community partners to ensure the development, operation, administration, and evaluation of all mandated and discretionary population health services within local, state, and federal, and Burgess Health Center policy. This position will be responsible for implementation of priorities from the community health needs assessment. This position will spend a significant amount of time out of the office completing health education and outreach in the community. Assures adequate programming is in place to meet community needs and serves as the liaison to the Board of Health. Supports the department in complying with applicable federal, state and local laws. Will handle all disease investigations and case management as needed. This is a full-time position.
Education:
Associate's degree or higher. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an active Iowa license (RN, LPN) for Iowa resident or an active license in a compact state in which you reside. Could also be a Medical Assistant, with experience, is preferred. Must be BLS prepared .
Experience:
Public Health related experience, leadership experience, grant writing and/or project management, preferred. Ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal skills. Alternative to
