Director of Marketing and Communications Basic Functions and Scope of Responsibility The Marketing & Events Coordinator plays a key role in bringing the YMCA's brand to life across the association. This position supports day-to-day marketing efforts, leads social media execution, assists with design and content creation, and helps plan and implement fundraising and community events. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and enjoys both strategic support and hands-on execution. Role Responsibilities Execute and manage social media strategy, including content creation, scheduling, engagement, and basic performance tracking. Design marketing materials (digital and print) using Canva to support programs, campaigns, and events. Capture and share compelling content (photos, videos, stories) that highlights YMCA impact and strengthens brand storytelling. Support website updates, email marketing, and digital communications, including campaign execution for program launches and key initiatives. Assist in planning and executing fundraising events and community engagement activities, including on-site support and outreach. Coordinate event logistics, materials, vendor communication, and marketing timelines. Ensure brand consistency, voice, and messaging across all marketing channels and communications. Collaborate with staff across departments to manage a marketing calendar and support daily promotional needs. Education, Experience & Training Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field (or equivalent experience). 1-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or event coordination preferred. Strong design skills and experience with Canva. Strong skills in graphic design, social media management, website content management, and digital marketing platforms. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Proficient with AI tools to streamline processes and work. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail and deadlines. Passion for community impact and alignment with the YMCA mission. CPR, AED and First Aid certification obtained within 30 days of employment.Core Competencies Caring:
