Job Description

About the Position The Holcomb Recreation Commission is seeking a creative, organized, and community-minded individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant / Marketing Coordinator . This dynamic role combines office administration with marketing and communications to help promote recreational programs, special events, and community initiatives. Key Responsibilities Administrative Support Serve as the first point of contact for the public—answer phones, greet visitors, and respond to inquiries. Process registrations, facility rentals, payments, and program enrollments. Maintain department records, databases, and filing systems Have experience in Quickbooks or willing to take classes to gain knowledge in Quickbooks. Assist with scheduling, correspondence, and meeting preparation for the Recreation Director and staff. Assist with budget preparation, tracking and financial reporting Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentations and ensuring compliance. Marketing & Communications Design and distribute flyers, newsletters, and digital content promoting recreation activities and events. Manage department social media accounts and website updates. Photograph and document programs and events for promotional use. Coordinate press releases, community announcements, and advertising campaigns. Develop creative strategies to increase participation and community engagement. Qualifications Proficiency in QuickBooks; experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar design tools preferred, AI experience is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Passion for community recreation and public service. Benefits Competitive salary and benefits package.
