The Game Day Operations & Fan Experience Internship provides hands-on experience in sports operations, event management, promotions, fan engagement, and live event production. Position Overview Carolina Core FC is seeking energetic, outgoing, and reliable individuals to assist with game day operations and fan experience initiatives throughout the Fall season. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience working behind the scenes of professional sporting events while helping execute promotions, in-stadium entertainment, and fan engagement activities. Interns will work directly with the Operations staff to help create a best-in-class matchday atmosphere for fans, sponsors, and community partners. Responsibilities In-Stadium Entertainment & Promotions Assist with the execution of in-game promotions, contests, and activations. Coordinate and stage participants for halftime and on-field contests. Assist with mascot appearances and fan engagement activities. Support sponsor activations and promotional giveaways. Help execute pregame, halftime, and postgame entertainment elements. PA Announcer & On-Field Host Support Assist with coordinating timing and logistics for PA announcements. Help stage guests, contest participants, sponsors, and community groups. Support the on-field host with fan interactions and promotional segments. Ensure all game presentation elements are prepared and executed on schedule. Fan Experience Welcome and assist fans throughout the stadium. Help manage fan engagement areas and interactive activities. Support youth soccer activations and community events. Assist with special theme nights and promotional events. Gather fan feedback and assist with fan experience initiatives. Game Day Operations Assist with stadium setup and breakdown before and after events. Help prepare promotional materials, signage, and activation spaces. Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth event execution. Support special projects and operational needs as assigned. Qualifications Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program. Interest in sports management, event management, marketing, communications, or a related field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Positive attitude and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and matchdays. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Comfortable interacting with fans, sponsors, and community partners. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in sports, events, promotions, customer service, or entertainment. Experience working with youth groups, community organizations, or live events. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. What You Will Gain Hands-on experience with a professional soccer club. Exposure to live event production and game presentation. Mentorship from sports industry professionals. Time Commitment Approximately 10-20 hours per week. Primarily evenings and weekends based on match and event schedules. Attendance at all home matches and select special events is preferred. Compensation This is an unpaid internship intended to provide educational and professional development experience. Compensation will be provided for working gamedays.
