Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression while managing check-in and check-out procedures efficiently. Handle scheduling, appointment confirmations, and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize daily operations. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verifications, and assist with billing processes utilizing EMR (Open Dental). Maintain accurate dental records, review documentation for completeness, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and handling inquiries promptly. Support marketing efforts by creating engaging content for social media platforms, updating practice websites, and developing community outreach campaigns to attract new patients. Organize clinic events, distribute promotional materials, and assist in developing care plans that enhance patient engagement. Proven experience in a dental office setting or healthcare environment with strong knowledge of dental terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and documentation review processes. Familiarity with EMR systems Open Dental is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability in dental billing and insurance verification procedures within a healthcare practice. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings is a plus. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), health information management software (Open Dental), and multi-line phone systems. Previous clinic or dental office experience involving front desk duties, dental scheduling, or office management is desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience handling sensitive patient information responsibly is essential. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
