Job Description
Objective:
The Marketing Coordinator supports and helps execute Animal Welfare Association's marketing and communications efforts. This role is responsible for creating and managing digital and print content to promote AWA's mission, increase community engagement, and drive donations and event participation. Key areas include social media, website updates, and marketing support for fundraising events.Essential Functions:
Social Media Maintain and coordinate a social media content calendar across all used social media channels Develop and schedule engaging, mission-driven content for AWA's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) Monitor social channels, respond to comments/messages, and assist in community building Capture and post stories, photos, and video snippets that highlight AWA's impact Website & Digital Content Update AWA's website with current events, donation pages, and general content using WordPress Optimize digital content for readability and user experience Maintain and execute a consistent and reliable blog calendar and publishing cadence Regularly review and update SEO, AEO, and ad campaigns Assist with photography and updates for animal web profiles Analytics & Admin Support Track social media and web performance Other Perform other duties as assigned Maintain relationships with vendors and partners Stay up-to-date on trends and topics Attend appropriate events in support of AWA's workPosition Requirements:
Commitment to AWA's mission of humane animal treatment Strong project management and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey AWA's message effectively across all platforms Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Development, Operations, and Education Strong technical aptitude and quick learner with various digital platforms and software Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures and safety standards Comfort handling dogs and cats when necessaryQualifications:
1-3 years of marketing, communications, digital media, or similar experience Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills Experience with Canva, email marketing platforms, and social media scheduling tools Basic familiarity with web content management Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, animal-friendly environment Passion for animal welfare and AWA's missionPhysical Factors:
Work performed in a busy, open administrative environment Peanut butter used throughout the facility Exposure to animals during events or on-site activities Long periods of sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, reading, and extensive computer workWorking Conditions:
Availability for occasional evening and weekend eventsPay:
