Description:
Under the supervision of the Director, Development and Institutional Events, support and execute Juilliard's Development and Institutional Events program, including two annual benefits and 30+ campus and signature events, while providing strategic oversight across Development, including Major Gifts, Campaigns, Membership, and institutional priorities. The annual salary for this role is $90K to $95K. Working at Juilliard Founded in 1905, The Juilliard School is a world leader in performing arts education. The school's mission is to provide the highest caliber of artistic education for gifted musicians, dancers, and actors from around the world so that they may achieve their fullest potential as artists, leaders, and global citizens. Excellence and professionalism are important guides in how we go about our work, but we also connect to the mission as individuals in the workplace. We thrive because of our variety of backgrounds and our ability to be open and honest, and we also thrive because we enjoy each other's company. We believe that each employee has the responsibility to help shape the Juilliard organizational culture, and we provide opportunities to participate in team-building throughout the year. Our organizational values focus on community and culture. We encourage you to read more about how we achieve our mission on our website, juilliard.edu. Job Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Director of Development and Institutional Events, support the execution of Juilliard's Development and Institutional Events program—managing a portfolio of 15-20+ events annually, including cultivation, stewardship, and membership events, while contributing to the successful delivery of larger institutional and fundraising events. Serve as lead producer for assigned events, overseeing all aspects of planning and execution from initial concept through post-event follow-up, ensuring alignment with Development goals and institutional priorities. Support the Director in producing Juilliard's annual benefits and other high-profile events, contributing to logistics, production coordination, and execution to ensure a seamless and high-quality experience. Develop and manage detailed production timelines for assigned events, tracking key milestones and proactively communicating updates to stakeholders and collaborators. Collaborate with Communications and Marketing to support the development and execution of event messaging and materials across digital and print platforms, adhering to established processes for content development and approvals, and ensuring a cohesive event identity and experience from invitation through post-event follow-up, aligned with Juilliard's brand and mission. Support budget tracking and reconciliation for assigned events in coordination with the Director, ensuring responsible financial management and accurate reporting. Assist in post-event evaluation, including stakeholder debriefs, financial reconciliation, and reporting on event outcomes and engagement. Support additional events, initiatives, and departmental priorities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative approach. Role Requirements Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 5-7 years of experience in special events, development, advancement, or a related field—preferably in higher education, the performing arts, or other mission-driven organizations. Demonstrated experience coordinating and executing events, including cultivation, stewardship, or institutional events. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and deliver high-quality work under deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with trustees, donors, artists, faculty, and colleagues across the institution. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with experience managing event logistics, timelines, and budgets. Ability to take initiative while working collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with CRM platforms such as Raiser's Edge; experience with event and project management tools (e.g., Zkipster, Social Tables, Asana, or ClickUp) preferred; familiarity with Eloqua preferred. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, with in-person presence required for events and key planning periods.
