Job Description
Primary Function Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives in collaboration with VP Broadcasting to secure corporate sponsorships and advertising partnerships for local programming and digital assets throughout York and the surrounding communities. The representative will serve as WLCH's daily presence in York, building strong relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders to expand market visibility and revenue opportunities. Key Result Areas Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives to secure corporate sponsorships, advertising revenue, and partnership opportunities for WLCH local programming, community events, and digital assets in York and surrounding areas. Establish, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, community organizations, nonprofit leaders, and corporate sponsors to increase WLCH's visibility and revenue growth within the York market. Identify new business opportunities and create customized sponsorships and advertising packages that align with client marketing objectives and community outreach efforts. Serve as WLCH's primary representative in York by actively engaging with the local community, attending networking events, and promoting the station's programming, initiatives, and public presence. Collaborate with the VP Broadcasting, on-air talent, and programming staff to develop sponsorship opportunities connected to the morning show "DE MAÑANA", special programming, and community initiatives. Coordinate sponsor participation and promotional activities related to station events, fundraising campaigns, SACA Fiesta, and community outreach activities. Maintain outgoing communication with sponsors and partners to ensure high-quality service, long term relationships, and continued support for WLCH programming. Monitor market trends, community interests, and competitive opportunities within York and surrounding communities to support continued audience and revenue growth. Accountabilities 1. Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective sponsors, advertisers, and community partners to support revenue growth and station visibility in York and surrounding areas. 2. Identify, develop, and coordinate sponsorship opportunities for local programming, community events, and special station initiatives. 3. Manage and maintain the station's social media presence to promote programming, sponsors, community events, and audience engagement. 4. Maintain organized records and logs for sponsors, interviews, guests, programming schedules, and campaign activities. 5. Represent WLCH at community events, networking activities, fundraising initiatives, and promotional appearances to strengthen relationships within the York community. 6. Work effectively under tight deadlines and respond promptly to breaking news, programming changes, and sponsor requests. Position Specifications Must be a resident of York, Pennsylvania, with strong knowledge and understanding of the local community, including its business environment, organizations, and cultural dynamics. Fully bilingual in Spanish and English (spoken and writing), with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, community members, and internal team in both languages. Strong understanding of advertising sales, sponsorship packages, and relationship-based business development. Demonstrate ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, community leaders and stakeholders. Proficiency with social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and basic content promotion strategies. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and client relationships simultaneously. Self-motivated, results•driven, and comfortable working independently while representing the station in the community. Education Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Experience Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in ales, sponsorship development, media sales, marketing, or community relations (radio or media experience preferred). Language Skills Bilingual in Spanish and English (spoken and written) with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, community members, and internal team in both languages. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate basic business and sales-related figures, including discounts, commissions, percentages, and revenue projections. Reasonable Ability Ability to interpret and apply instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagram form. Capable of exercising sound judgement, common sense, and independent decision-making in a fast-paced media and sales environment. Technical Skills Ability to interpret and apply instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagram form. Capable of exercising sound judgement, common sense, and independent decision-making in a fast-paced media and sales environment. Understanding of digital advertising, sponsorship sales processes, and campaign tracking tools. Ability to support client reporting and basic marketing analytics is an asset. Physical Ability Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds (e.g., office supplies, equipment, or promotional materials) as needed. Work Environment Primarily office and studio-based environment with moderate noise levels, including computers, printers, broadcast equipment, and audio playback systems.
