Position Purpose The Assistant Director, Dartmouth NEXT provides essential programmatic and operational support for a universitywide initiative focused on expanding access and opportunity in STEM fields. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Assistant Director helps coordinate events and outreach, supports communications and reporting efforts, and ensures smooth execution of program logistics. With a strong STEM foundation and a detailoriented mindset, the Assistant Director contributes to the implementation of Dartmouth NEXT activities through effective planning, storytelling, and collaboration with campus and external partners. Description Required Qualifications Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 23 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Strong writing skills, with experience drafting professional communications such as newsletters or proposals.
Experience coordinating events or supporting program operations.
Basic data management and reporting skills (e.g., spreadsheets, data summaries, visual presentation).
Familiarity with social media tools and an interest in inclusive storytelling and outreach.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Comfort working both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness and ability to travel occasionally. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a STEMrelated field
Demonstrated interest in STEM education, access, and equity.
Experience working in higher education or nonprofit program coordination.
Familiarity with grant or conference proposal processes.
Skill in visual communications or design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
