Job Description
SALT is looking for a driven, organized, hospitality-minded Events Director to lead and grow our private events program. This is a high-upside role for someone who knows how to turn inquiries into booked business, build strong client relationships, and help grow a major revenue opportunity for the restaurant. This position offers a strong compensation opportunity, combining a base salary with meaningful performance-based commissions tied to private event revenue. For the right candidate, this role has the potential for substantial earnings above the base salary while helping build one of SALT's most important growth areas. About the Role The Events Director will be the primary point of contact for private event inquiries, buyouts, semi-private events, and group dining opportunities. This person will manage the sales process from initial inquiry through proposal, follow-up, booking, planning, and event execution support. This is a hybrid role that combines remote work with on-site responsibilities. Much of the sales, outreach, proposal, and administrative work may be done remotely, while on-site presence will be needed for venue tours, tastings, open houses, important events, and coordination with the restaurant team. Key Responsibilities Respond to and manage private event, buyout, semi-private event, and group dining inquiries. Convert leads into booked business through proposals, follow-up, negotiation, and signed event agreements. Conduct outreach to potential event clients, corporate groups, community partners, past guests, and other sales leads. Help develop event pricing, packages, menus, food and beverage minimums, buyout pricing, and special event offerings. Coordinate event details with clients and internal teams, including kitchen, bar, service, and management. Maintain CRM and event management systems, including lead logs, calendars, contracts, communication records, and event details. Host or assist with venue tours, tastings, open house events, and promotional activities. Attend key events, VIP events, major buyouts, or other important functions as needed. Support large-party reservations and group dining opportunities as part of the overall events program.
