Job Description

The Marketing Coordinator will focus on supporting the efforts and goals of Commonplace Coffee through content creation, design, and key marketing initiatives that align with company goals and mission. About Commonplace Coffee Commonplace Coffee exists to foster and build community through coffee with Craft and Care. Description The Marketing Coordinator will focus on supporting the efforts and goals of Commonplace Coffee through content creation, design, and key marketing initiatives that meet the business needs of the organization and align with our overarching mission. Competitive candidates will possess a broad set of communications and multimedia skills including marketing, graphic design, writing, and social media experience. This full-time position will report to our Marketing Manager and operate on a hybrid work schedule, including remote work and in-person time at our Headquarters. Essential Functions Creates photo and video content for diverse print and digital channels. This includes but is not limited to social media and email marketing content, product/merch design, web design support, and marketing collateral. Thinks creatively and analytically to produce and publish content in various forms across Commonplace's digital channels. Conceptualizes and executes project plans/timelines for strategic influencer partnerships, visual storytelling assets (including infographics, product rollouts, memes, and other engaging designs/assets), and more. Spearheads key retail marketing operations, including but not limited to our bi-annual staff sticker project, summer/winter community crafts, creating in-store signage/assets and more. Monitors and analyzes social media, website, and newsletter performance metrics including data reporting. Collaborates with Marketing Manager on ongoing reporting and strategic planning efforts, establishing measurable, platform-specific growth goals and conducting ongoing progress analysis. Maintains community engagement standards across digital platforms, ensuring comments/messages are addressed and proactively identifying/pursuing advantageous engagement opportunities. Schedules and optimizes content distribution to digital channels and platforms to increase sales, website traffic and audience size. Interacts with individuals and teams from across the enterprise to identify new/unique storytelling opportunities. Researches and collaborates with subject matter experts - internally across Commonplace and externally - to create and manage engaging content. Educates customers via digital channels on all of Commonplace's products and services, as well as the background and context on which our work stands. Consistently improves content to maintain high quality and performance standards. Supports a positive work environment. Performs other duties as assigned by the Marketing Manager, Director of Wholesale & Brand Experience, or Commonplace Leadership broadly. Qualifications 1-3 years of marketing, communications, design and/or social media experience (ideally centered around the food and beverage industry). Associates or Bachelors degree in marketing, communications or design (or currently enrolled in a higher education program). Strong knowledge of design and organizational software: Adobe, Microsoft, and Google Workspace products and tools. Strong knowledge of social media platforms. Fluent in multimedia editing (photo/video/design) and comfortable creating and optimizing short-form video content for social media platforms. Excellent written and visual communication skills. Proficient understanding of content marketing strategy and digital publishing. Exceptional attention to detail. Understanding of coffee shops and specialty retail. Passionate about interacting with and caring for people and community. Demonstration of passion and enthusiasm for coffee. High integrity and personal responsibility. Openness to criticism and constantly striving to improve. Ability to multi-task with ease and problem solve/prioritize under challenging conditions. Desire to grow skills and assume greater responsibility in Commonplace Coffee. Physical Demands Must be able to sit for 4-8 hours at a time. Reliable transportation required. Possibility of lifting up to 10-15lbs at a time in transporting marketing materials, event supplies, etc. Work environment Work environment at Headquarters/Roastery can be noisy at times. Regular travel to retail shops is expected (typically at least once per week). Remote work will require use of audio and video calls as well as use of email and other collaborative digital tools. This job involves high levels of communication and collaboration. Additional Details Full-time, permanent; 40 hours per week. This position reports to the Marketing Manager.
