Job Description
About Carden School of Fresno Carden School of Fresno is a private K-8 school offering a classical education through the Carden Method™. We're a small, mission-driven community of approximately 150 students and growing. We're investing in our marketing function to better reach the families across the Central Valley who are looking for exactly what we offer — and we're hiring a contractor to help us execute. This role starts as a part-time hourly contract with a clear pathway to a full-time Coordinator position for the right person who delivers strong work and grows with us. What You'll Do This is an execution role focused on social media and content production. You'll own the day-to-day output: planning what we post, capturing it on campus, editing it, and getting it live on approval.
A typical week looks like:
Own the content calendar. Build a rolling monthly social calendar in Notion — themes, captions, formats, posting dates. Submit each batch for Marketing Committee approval before publishing. Film on campus. Capture classroom moments, student work, school events, and short-form video footage (with appropriate permissions). iPhone-grade is fine to start. Edit in CapCut. Produce short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Facebook — cuts, captions, music, transitions. Aim for a consistent, recognizable visual style. Post and engage. Publish approved content to Instagram and Facebook on schedule. Respond to comments and DMs within agreed turnaround times. Design collateral in Canva. Event flyers, email headers, tour packets, admissions one-pagers, story templates, and post graphics. Maintain the website. Update the school's WordPress site with news posts, event listings, and page edits. Photograph events. Open houses, Summer Academy, performances, classroom highlights — both for immediate social use and for the school's image library. Report weekly. Share content performance, what's queued, and what's blocked with the Marketing Committee. What We're Looking For 1-3+ years of hands-on social media and content production experience, ideally for a small organization, brand, creator, or local business A portfolio of short-form video work — Reels, TikToks, or similar — that you can walk us through Strong CapCut skills (or equivalent: Premiere Rush, InShot, DaVinci Resolve) Canva fluency at minimum; Adobe Creative Suite a plus Strong writing instincts — captions that sound human, warm, and credible to parents Comfort being on campus regularly for shoots and events, including occasional evenings Self-directed and organized — you can run a content calendar without daily check-ins Notion experience, or quick to pick it up Comfort with WordPress for basic site updates Candidate must pass a DOJ screening. Nice to Have Photography skills beyond iPhone (DSLR or mirrorless) Prior work with schools, nonprofits, or family-facing brands Familiarity with classical education or genuine interest in learning about it Experience with email marketing tools (Mailchimp, HubSpot) Growth Pathway This position is structured to grow with the right person. Two specific tracks open up over time: Scope. Strong performers can transition from part-time contractor to a full-time Marketing Coordinator role as the function expands. Skills. We run paid campaigns on Meta and Google, and we'll train the right person on this side of the role. You don't need paid ads experience to apply — but you should be curious about it and willing to learn. Candidates who want to build a more complete marketing skill set will find a real pathway here. How to Apply Send a resume, a short note about why this role interests you, and 2-3 links to recent work — Reels, TikToks, social accounts you've managed, or content you're proud of.
