Position Summary The Health Promotion Coordinator / Training Instructor is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating comprehensive health promotion programs while delivering high-quality instructor-led training that supports the health, readiness, and well-being of military personnel, civilian employees, and civilian mariners. This position serves as the installation-level lead for health promotion initiatives and provides classroom instruction using Government-provided and contractor-developed curriculum in accordance with approved lesson plans, adult learning principles, and

quality standards. The incumbent delivers evidence-based health education, conducts wellness screenings and biometric assessments, develops and updates instructional materials, evaluates student and program performance, and collaborates with Government leadership to ensure mission success through continuous quality improvement and exceptional customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Health Promotion Program Management Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate installation-wide health promotion and wellness initiatives. Develop and deliver health education programs, workshops, seminars, wellness campaigns, health fairs, incentive programs, and New Employee Orientation sessions. Conduct health and wellness assessments, including biometric screenings such as height, weight, BMI, body composition, blood pressure, and other approved health measurements. Educate participants on healthy lifestyle behaviors, disease prevention, nutrition, physical activity, stress management, sleep, tobacco cessation, and other evidence-based wellness topics. Provide individualized health coaching and recommendations to improve participant health outcomes. Monitor participant engagement and program effectiveness through data collection, analysis, and reporting. Prepare program reports, performance metrics, and recommendations for continuous quality improvement. Coordinate staffing schedules, educational materials, supplies, and equipment to support health promotion activities. Maintain accurate participant records, inventories, and program documentation in accordance with organizational policies. Collaborate with Government leadership, healthcare providers, fitness professionals, and community partners to support integrated wellness initiatives. Support installation outreach events, health campaigns, worksite wellness initiatives, and special events. Travel, as required, to CONUS and OCONUS locations to support ship visits, worksite wellness events, and health promotion activities. Training and Instruction Deliver instructor-led classroom, seminar, lecture, demonstration, and practical exercise training in accordance with approved training schedules. Utilize Government-provided curriculum and contractor-developed instructional materials to ensure standardized, high-quality course delivery. Apply adult learning principles and evidence-based instructional techniques to maximize student engagement and knowledge retention. Conduct training in accordance with

Quality Management System standards and organizational policies. Maintain subject matter expertise to ensure instructional content remains current, accurate, and compliant with customer requirements. Review, revise, and maintain lesson plans, student guides, instructor guides, and curriculum documentation based on annual curriculum reviews, Government feedback, and evolving program requirements. Develop supplemental instructional materials, presentations, graphics, demonstrations, and practical exercises that enhance student learning. Evaluate student performance through written assessments, practical exercises, classroom participation, and competency evaluations. Administer, review, and summarize student critiques and course evaluations to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for program improvement. Prepare recommendations for curriculum enhancements and corrective actions based on student feedback, instructor observations, and Government guidance. Maintain accurate training records, attendance rosters, assessment documentation, and instructional files. Administrative and Operational Responsibilities Maintain current knowledge of health promotion, wellness, and instructional best practices. Ensure educational materials and instructional content remain current and evidence-based. Maintain classroom equipment, instructional technology, health screening equipment, and program resources. Communicate effectively with Government representatives, participants, instructors, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders. Ensure exceptional customer service while supporting organizational mission and performance objectives. Support quality assurance, continuous process improvement, and contract compliance initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Operations Manager. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Education, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Nursing, Allied Health, Adult Education, Organizational Development, Kinesiology, or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in health promotion, wellness programming, or health education. Minimum of three (3) years of experience delivering instructor-led classroom training in military, government, healthcare, civilian mariner, or comparable adult learning environments. Prior experience providing health promotion services or training within a Department of Defense (DoD), Military Sealift Command (MSC), military, civilian mariner, or federal government environment is highly desirable. Minimum of one (1) year of leadership or management experience in a health promotion or training program. Experience updating, revising, and maintaining curriculum, lesson plans, instructor guides, and student materials through annual curriculum reviews and continuous improvement processes. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional methodologies, and curriculum development. Experience developing professional instructional presentations and graphics using Microsoft PowerPoint and the Microsoft Office Suite. Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications. Ability to obtain and maintain all required Government credentials, installation access, and security requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Military Sealift Command (MSC), Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, or other federal agencies. Knowledge of

Quality Management Systems and continuous quality improvement methodologies. Experience conducting biometric screenings and interpreting health risk assessments. Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and electronic training management systems. Professional certifications in health promotion, adult education, instructional design, or quality management (e.g., CHES, MCHES, CPTD, CTT+, ACSM, NSCA, ACE, or equivalent). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of health promotion principles, behavior change strategies, and preventive health practices. Thorough understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies. Ability to effectively facilitate classroom instruction, seminars, workshops, demonstrations, and practical exercises. Strong public speaking, presentation, and health coaching skills. Ability to evaluate program performance and student learning outcomes using quantitative and qualitative methods. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of quality, professionalism, and contract compliance.
