Position Summary:
We seek a detail-oriented and strategic-thinking Marketing & Communications Coordinator to join our growing Development team during an exciting time in the organization's strategic growth. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will be incredibly detail oriented and have the opportunity to actively and strategically grow the organization's presence and impact, and be accountable for the following: Support the implementation and ongoing coordination of NWABA's marketing and communications efforts in alignment with organizational goals and growth initiatives. Create, schedule, and publish engaging written and visual content across multiple communication platforms to support community engagement, strengthen brand awareness, and help drive successful digital campaigns that increase engagement and revenue. This position is supervised by the VP of Development and works cross-functionally across all areas of the organization. This is an opportunity to both support and actively engage in the growth, strategy, and direction of the organization's work. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. NWABA offers competitive compensation and a robust benefits package to support the health and well-being of our team members. The salary range for this position is $24.04-$27.16 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include fully covered health insurance for the employee, a 403(b) retirement savings plan with a 3% employer match after one year of service, and generous paid time off. PTO accrues at a rate of 10 hours per month to start, with 8 paid holidays per year. NWABA also offers fully subsidized parking for employees working from our downtown Vancouver, WA office, which is conveniently located near restaurants, coffee shops, trails, and other attractions. This is a fully in-office (not remote) position.
Job Responsibilities:
Communications Support the implementation and coordination of NWABA's marketing and communications efforts across print, digital, social media, email, and event platforms. Maintain consistent and effective brand identity across organizational materials and communications. Assist with maintaining brand guideline documents and supporting team members and vendors in following brand standards. Collaborate with volunteers, program team members, families, and athletes to collect stories, photos, and content for use across communication platforms. Create, schedule, and maintain content across NWABA social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Google Ads. Coordinate with photographers, videographers, and graphic designers to produce and present compelling visual content. Coordinate and lead the writing, editing, and distribution of fundraising appeals, newsletters, stewardship reports, annual reports, and other organizational communications with strategic support from the VP, Development. Maintain and update the organization's website utilizing WordPress and other digital tools. Project Management Build, maintain, and actively manage NWABA's marketing project management systems in Asana, including workflows, timelines, templates, campaign tracking, and organizational processes that support efficient and high-quality execution across teams. Serve as the lead coordinator for marketing and communications projects, helping ensure campaigns, content, fundraising initiatives, events, and deliverables remain organized, aligned, on schedule, and executed with excellence in collaboration with the VP, Development. Proactively manage competing priorities, timelines, and project details across departments, vendors, and team members with strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail. Fundraising Coordinate and execute digital fundraising campaigns for special giving initiatives including Giving Tuesday, Idaho Gives, GiveMore24, and other organizational fundraising efforts in collaboration with the VP, Development that drive meaningful revenue. Serve as a key team member in the planning and execution of NWABA special events, including coordinating event speakers, supporting event themes and key messaging, writing and editing scripts, managing collateral production, coordinating video production, and overseeing day-of visual materials with graphic designers and vendors. General Track, analyze, and report communications, campaigns, and engagement metrics to help evaluate effectiveness and support organizational growth. Create in-house graphic design materials utilizing Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva, and coordinate projects with contract graphic designers and creative vendors. Assist with the organization, coordination, and implementation of Development events. Work collaboratively with the Development team to achieve NWABA's fundraising goals, engagement, and communication goals. Approach projects with a high level of organization, initiative, attention to detail, and follow-through while managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. VP, Development Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing and communications; fundraising, or related field. Demonstrated experience writing and editing compelling organizational communications including fundraising appeals, newsletters, email campaigns, website content, social media content, press releases, and storytelling pieces. Experience coordinating and executing digital campaigns that drive engagement, community awareness, and fundraising results. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign and Canva, email marketing platforms, social media management tools, WordPress, and CRM systems. Experience utilizing project management systems such as Asana to coordinate timelines, workflows, deliverables, and cross-functional projects. Knowledge of email marketing best practices, audience engagement strategies, list management, and campaign performance metrics. Strong writing, proofreading, grammar, and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail. Highly organized with the ability to proactively manage multiple projects, deadlines, priorities, and moving pieces in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively across departments while also being self-directed, resourceful, and solutions oriented. Experience coordinating with photographers, videographers, graphic designers, printers, and outside vendors preferred. Prior nonprofit communications, fundraising, or event experience preferred. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with team members, athletes, families, volunteers, donors, and community partners. Ability to travel approximately 10-15% of time as needed throughout our service area (WA, OR, ID and MT) including air travel. Ability to work evenings and weekends throughout the year as needed in support of events and special project deliverables. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license and be comfortable driving organization-owned vehicles in support of job responsibilities. Ability to pass a background check, including MVR.
