$150,000 salary About the Role Chapman Automotive Group is one of the largest and top-performing automotive retailers across Arizona and Nevada, with over 1,900 employees regionally. Family-owned and operated since 1966, Chapman has built a strong reputation centered on a unique, customer-focused experience. BMW on Camelback in Phoenix is seeking a General Sales Manager to lead the sales team and drive overall dealership performance. This role is responsible for hitting sales targets, coaching the team, building B2B and luxury sales opportunities, and growing market share through outbound prospecting and CRM follow-up. The GSM will manage deals and negotiations, oversee inventory, support marketing efforts and events, and ensure strong customer experience throughout the sales process. Responsibilities Lead and manage the automotive sales team to achieve and surpass sales targets through effective coaching, motivation, and performance management Develop and execute strategic sales plans focused on high-end vehicles, B2B (business-to-business) sales, and expanding the dealership's market presence Cultivate new business opportunities through outbound sales efforts such as cold calling, networking events, and B2B outreach Maintain a robust sales pipeline by tracking prospects using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software and ensuring timely follow-up Conduct negotiations with clients to close deals efficiently while maximizing profitability through upselling and value-added services Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels of high-demand vehicles and accessories Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries professionally via phone, email, or in-person interactions while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills Collaborate with marketing teams to implement promotional campaigns that attract new customers and retain existing ones Organize public speaking engagements or dealership events to enhance brand visibility and community engagement Support the sales team with retail math calculations, inventory control, and organizational skills to streamline operations Qualifications Proven experience in automobile sales, dealership management, or retail sales, preferably with high-end vehicles or B2B transactions Strong background in outside sales, negotiation, and building long-term client relationships Familiarity with CRM for managing leads, follow-ups, and sales pipelines Demonstrated success in upselling products or services to maximize revenue opportunities Excellent communication skills; bilingual abilities are highly valued Experience in inventory management, retail math, and organizational skills for efficient dealership operations Prior experience in public speaking or representing a dealership at community events is a plus Knowledge of automotive industry trends, marketing strategies, and customer service best practices
