Senior Sales Manager-SMERF - Sports, Government/Military, Religion/Fraternal organizations Crescent Hotels & Resorts United States, California, Berkeley 200 Marina Boulevard (Show on map) Apr 24, 2026
Description Key Responsibilities Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets within assigned market segments
Proactively solicit new business through prospecting, networking, site visits, and industry engagement
Maintain and grow existing accounts by building strong client relationships and ensuring repeat business
Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation, RFP responses, contract negotiation, and closing
Collaborate with Revenue Management to ensure competitive pricing and optimal inventory utilization
Conduct property tours, client presentations, and participate in trade shows and industry events
Partner with Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of group business and client satisfaction
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities
Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, pipelines, and accounts in CRM systems (Delphi, etc.)
Achieve quarterly and annual revenue goals as outlined by the
Director of Sales & Marketing Market Segment Focus Sports:
Youth, collegiate, and professional team travel, tournaments, and group bookingsGovernment/Military:
Federal, state, and local government accounts, per diem business, and contract complianceReligious/Fraternal:
Conferences, retreats, meetings, and recurring group events Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of hotel sales experience, with strong background in group sales Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals Experience in one or more of the assigned segments preferred Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in sales systems (Delphi, Salesforce, or similar) and Microsoft Office Knowledge of local market and industry trends is a plus Competencies Results-driven with strong business acumen Relationship-focused with excellent customer service skills Strategic thinker with proactive sales approach Strong organizational and time management abilities Collaborative team player with cross-functional partnership mindset Work Environment & Expectations Ability to travel locally for client meetings, site visits, and networking events Flexibility to attend industry events, including evenings or weekends as needed Active participation in property meetings, sales strategy sessions, and community engagement Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary + incentive/commission plan Comprehensive benefits package Career growth opportunities within Crescent Hotels & Resorts Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
