Job Description

Grupo Chilero, LLC is a leading provider of Hispanic seasonings, spices, marinades, and chiles sold primarily through the Hispanic grocery channel. Through its Chef Merito and La Fiesta brands, the company manufactures and distributes hundreds of SKUs supported by a robust direct-store-delivery (DSD) network—the most extensive in the Hispanic grocery segment. The company is continuing to invest in people, systems, and operational infrastructure to support growth, improve processes, and expand into new product lines.
Overall Responsibility:
The District Business Development Manager for the Northwest and Rockies region is responsible for driving sales growth, overseeing distributors and ensuring excellent execution at the store level across a defined geographic territory. This role focuses on achieving sales targets, building strong customer relationships, and maintaining high standards of merchandising and in-store presence. This role requires strong sales skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster relationships with customers, store managers, and internal departments. The District Business Development Manager reports to the Director of DSD.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Drive sales growth and achieve district revenue targets Ensure strong in-store execution (merchandising, displays, shelf placement, pricing) Build and maintain relationships with key retail customers and store managers Monitor route productivity, service levels, and coverage to optimize efficiency Identify opportunities for new distribution, promotions, and product placement Track and analyze sales performance, KPIs, and market trends Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures Identify and open new customers and upsell to existing customers to increase sales volume.
Skills & Qualifications:
3-7 years of sales experience, preferably in DSD, CPG, or food distribution Strong understanding of route sales, merchandising, and retail execution Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills Ability to analyze sales data and drive actionable insights Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the district Results-driven mindset and strong sense of urgency Operational execution Accountability & ownership Travel Requirements and Work Environment The District Business Development Manager is expected to be highly active in the field, partnering with the team and engaging directly with customers. Approximately 80% of time will be spent in-market, with the remaining time dedicated to administrative responsibilities, planning, and team coordination. Frequent local and overnight travel within the district is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and reach while working in retail stores, warehouses, and delivery environments Ability to lift and carry products, displays, or materials up to 25-50 lbs as needed Frequent driving within the assigned district, including multiple store visits per day Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends based on business needs Exposure to varying conditions including outdoor weather, refrigerated/freezer environments, and warehouse settings Comfortable working in fast-paced, physically active environments alongside route sales teams Ability to use standard technology (laptop, tablet, smartphone) for reporting, communication, and analysis Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, use hands and fingers to handle controls, scanner, computer and mouse; talk and hear.
