Job Description

Overview The Director of Membership & Outside Tournament Sales is responsible for driving membership growth, retention, and engagement while maximizing revenue through the development and execution of outside golf tournaments and events. This leadership role blends strategic sales, relationship management, and operational coordination to enhance the club's reputation and financial performance. Experience Required 5+ years of experience in membership sales, hospitality, golf operations, or event sales. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of golf operations and country club environments is highly preferred. Relationship Building & Customer Focus Strategic Thinking & Sales Execution Organization & Attention to Detail Negotiation & Closing Skills Leadership & Team Collaboration Essential Responsibilities Membership Sales & Experience Develop and execute a comprehensive membership sales strategy to meet and exceed annual goals. Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective members; conduct tours, presentations, and follow-ups. Manage the full membership lifecycle, including onboarding, engagement, and retention initiatives. Collaborate with club leadership to create compelling membership offerings, promotions, and pricing strategies. Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, and member activity using CRM systems. Monitor member satisfaction and proactively address concerns to ensure a high-quality experience. Outside Tournament & Event Sales Generate and secure outside golf tournaments, corporate outings, and special events. Build relationships with local businesses, organizations, and event planners to drive repeat business. Prepare and present customized proposals, contracts, and pricing packages. Coordinate with golf operations, food & beverage, and events teams to ensure seamless execution. Oversee tournament logistics including scheduling, setup, player experience, and post-event follow-up. Track and report on sales performance, revenue targets, and event outcomes. Marketing & Business Development Partner with marketing teams to promote membership opportunities and tournament offerings. Represent the club at networking events, community functions, and industry gatherings. Identify new revenue opportunities and partnerships to expand the club's reach. Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge. Leadership & Collaboration Work cross-functionally with department heads to ensure alignment on member and guest experiences. Provide input on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning related to membership and events. Uphold the club's brand standards and deliver exceptional hospitality at all touchpoints.
