Sales Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Manager leads all sales activities and client relationship development for Martinez Steel, LLC's California market, including commercial, industrial, agricultural infrastructure, and public works rebar fabrication and installation projects. Operating out of the Pittsburg, CA facility, this role is responsible for generating new business, managing key regional accounts, and supporting estimating to achieve regional revenue goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and execute a regional sales plan to grow Martinez Steel, LLC's presence in the Central California construction market Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, construction managers, project owners, and developers throughout Central California. Identify project opportunities and bid pursuits; collaborate with the estimating team on bid strategy, project selection, and client-specific pricing. Represent Martinez Steel, LLC at in California industry events, trade associations, and client meetings. Prepare and present regional sales reports, pipeline updates, and market intelligence to operations and senior leadership. Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through project award, contract execution, and handoff to the operations team. Monitor competitive dynamics in the California market and adjust pursuit strategy accordingly. Coordinate with the Fresno fabrication facility team to communicate client expectations, project schedules, and delivery requirements. Support the preparation of proposals, qualification packages, and capability presentations tailored to Central California clients. Maintain accurate opportunity and account records in the company CRM system; ensure timely follow-up on all active pursuits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following minimum qualifications. Education, experience, and certifications listed represent the minimum required; equivalent combinations may be considered. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required. Minimum 5 years of sales or business development experience in construction, specialty subcontracting, or building materials; rebar or reinforcing steel experience preferred. Established relationships with general contractors, agriculture infrastructure developers, and public agencies in the Central California market strongly preferred. Familiarity with California prevailing wage, public works processes, and DIR compliance requirements. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and client relationship management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software. Valid California driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the Central California region.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primarily office-based at the Pittsburg, CA facility with frequent travel throughout area for client meetings, site visits, and industry events. Must be able to access active construction jobsites.

$120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
