POSITION SUMMARY
The Catering Sales Manager is an energetic, organized, and relationship-driven hospitality professional responsible for generating catering and event revenue through proactive sales efforts, client relationship management, and seamless event coordination. This role focuses on selling and executing social events, corporate meetings, group functions, weddings, and catered experiences while partnering closely with hotel operations and food & beverage teams to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction. This position plays a dual role in both servicing and selling, requiring a hands-on approach to client relationships from prospecting and booking through event execution and follow-up. The ideal candidate will confidently represent and sell the full hotel campus experience, including guest rooms, meeting space, catering, amenities, and overall hotel offerings. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is highly skilled in prospecting, event planning, communication, and delivering memorable guest experiences from inquiry through execution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Solicit and generate new catering and event business through prospecting, outside sales calls, networking, referrals, internet research, community involvement, and relationship-building efforts. Manage incoming catering inquiries and convert leads into confirmed business opportunities. Coordinate and execute weddings, social events, corporate meetings, group functions, and special events from initial inquiry through event completion. Conduct property tours and client meetings to showcase hotel event spaces, catering offerings, and guest experience opportunities. Prepare proposals, contracts, banquet event orders (BEOs), and detailed event documentation. Collaborate closely with culinary, banquet, front office, and operations teams to ensure seamless event execution and exceptional guest satisfaction. Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the planning process, ensuring expectations are exceeded. Monitor event revenue, booking pace, and catering goals while adjusting strategies to maximize profitability and business opportunities. Attend networking events, trade shows, chamber meetings, wedding expos, and community events to promote the hotel and generate leads. Review event feedback and guest satisfaction results to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Maintain accurate client records, account activity, and sales reporting within company systems. Actively service booked business while continuing to prospect and sell new opportunities, ensuring a seamless client experience from lead generation through event execution. Build and maintain strong relationships within the local community, including businesses, organizations, tourism partners, and local influencers to increase hotel visibility and revenue opportunities. Confidently promote and sell the full hotel campus experience, including guestrooms, meeting space, catering services, amenities, and on-property experiences. Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support hotel sales and operational objectives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally. Must maintain a valid driver's license and be able to perform outside sales calls and attend networking events. Previous experience in hotel catering sales, event management, banquet sales, or hospitality sales preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed based on event activity. Experience with hotel sales systems, catering software, and brand systems is preferred. Knowledge and proficiency with hotel sales, catering, CRM, and brand systems/programs is strongly preferred.
