Business Development & Estimating Manager 4675 Elevation Way, Fort Myers, FL 33905 From $65,000 a year - Full-time From $65,000 a year - Full-time About Us V&H Construction is a growing heavy civil and underground utilities contractor based in Fort Myers, FL. We work on FDOT, municipal, and private sector projects across Southwest Florida — road construction, drainage, utilities, site development, and more. We're looking for a sharp, connected, driven professional to lead our business development and estimating efforts as we scale. The Role This is a hybrid sales, estimating, and project oversight position for someone who knows Southwest Florida construction inside and out. You'll own the front end of our pipeline — from identifying opportunities and building relationships to pricing jobs and handing off to our field team. What You'll Do Identify and pursue government and private sector bid opportunities (FDOT, SFWMD, municipalities, county, DOT, developers) Build and maintain relationships with GCs, subs, owners, and public agencies across Lee, Collier, Charlotte, and Sarasota counties Prepare accurate, competitive bids and estimates for heavy civil and utility projects Coordinate with project managers to ensure smooth job handoff and budget alignment Monitor active projects remotely to flag issues, track progress, and support the field team Represent V&H at industry events, pre-bid meetings, and client meetings What We're Looking For Deep local roots — you know the contractors, owners, agencies, and players in Southwest Florida 5+ years in heavy civil, underground utilities, or related construction (estimating, BD, or PM) Strong estimating skills — you know how to price dirt, pipe, and concrete work Experience winning government contracts (FDOT, municipal, county bids a major plus) Project management background — you can read a schedule, manage a budget, and problem-solve from a distance Excellent communicator — written, verbal, and in the field Local to Fort Myers, Naples, or Cape Coral area — must be able to work from our Fort Myers office Compensation Competitive base salary commensurate with experience Performance-based bonus tied to revenue growth To Apply Submit your resume and a brief note on your local project history and relationships to vhinfo@vhconstruction.net V&H Construction is an equal opportunity employer.
