This position develops and executes strategic sales plans targeting corporate, group, leisure, government, and local business markets while building strong relationships with clients and community partners. The Director of Sales serves as a key member of the hotel leadership team and works closely with operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences and successful event execution. Position Summary As the Director of Sales, you will champion the hotel's growth by identifying new business opportunities, strengthening client relationships, and implementing revenue-driving strategies. This role requires a dynamic leader who is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and possesses the ability to inspire both clients and team members while delivering exceptional financial results. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSales & Revenue Generation Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and revenue goals. Identify, solicit, and secure new business opportunities within corporate, group, government, sports, association, and leisure markets. Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts while actively prospecting for new clients. Conduct outside sales calls, site tours, networking events, and client meetings. Negotiate contracts, rates, and terms while ensuring profitability. Manage group room blocks, meeting space sales, and catering opportunities as applicable. Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities and risks. Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to achieve individual and departmental goals. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and exceptional customer service. Conduct regular sales meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews. Support recruiting, onboarding, and professional development initiatives. Revenue Management & Strategy Collaborate with hotel leadership and revenue management teams to develop pricing and business strategies. Participate in weekly revenue and forecasting meetings. Analyze sales reports, pace reports, STR data, and market intelligence to make informed business decisions. Prepare annual sales budgets, forecasts, and action plans. Marketing & Community Engagement Support local marketing initiatives that increase brand awareness and drive demand. Represent the hotel at community events, trade shows, chamber functions, and industry organizations. Partner with brand resources and marketing vendors to maximize exposure and lead generation. Maintain strong relationships with local businesses, convention visitors bureaus, sports organizations, and community leaders. Customer Service & Client Relations Ensure exceptional service delivery from the initial sales contact through post-event follow-up. Resolve client concerns professionally and efficiently. Conduct regular account reviews and client appreciation initiatives to strengthen partnerships. Maintain a high level of guest and client satisfaction. Required Skills & Competencies Strong sales, negotiation, and closing abilities. Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Proven ability to generate new business and grow existing accounts. Strong leadership and team development capabilities. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial and market data. Effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and hotel sales software. Strong networking and community engagement skills. Knowledge of Hilton brand standards and systems preferred. Minimum Qualifications & ExperienceRequired Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of 3 years of hotel sales experience. Minimum of 2 years in a hotel sales leadership role or equivalent management experience. Proven track record of achieving revenue goals and developing successful sales strategies. Experience in group sales, corporate sales, and account management. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for outside sales activities. Preferred Experience with Hilton-branded hotels. Experience with Delphi, OnQ R&I, Hilton systems, or similar hospitality sales platforms. Knowledge of the Gwinnett County market. Certified Hospitality Sales Professional (CHSP) or similar industry certification. Physical Requirements Ability to travel locally for sales calls, networking events, and client meetings.
