Confidential Opportunity Director of Sales & Customer Relationships Location:
Wichita, Kansas preferred, with responsibility for developing customer relationships across a national territoryCompensation:
Base salary range is $75,000-$110,000, commensurate with experience, with the possibility of a strong performance-based sales bonus structure. This is a confidential search for a growth-stage environmental solutions company. Additional company details will be shared with qualified candidates as they move forward in the process. An innovative environmental solutions company is expanding its presence across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure markets through a proprietary, environmentally responsible technology platform designed to address fats, oils, and grease (FOG) and related operational challenges. The company is currently focused on applications within wastewater lift stations, commercial kitchen environments, kitchen exhaust cleaning, and related industrial service sectors. As the company continues to grow, it is seeking to accelerate market expansion, strengthen customer relationships, and build long-term recurring business across its core industries. The Opportunity We are seeking a Director of Sales & Customer Relationships to lead front-line business development and customer engagement efforts across targeted markets. This is a high-impact, field-facing role responsible for generating new business opportunities, securing and executing pilot programs, building long-term customer relationships, and helping scale a differentiated environmental solutions platform across expanding commercial and infrastructure markets. The ideal candidate is a proven relationship-builder who can open doors, establish credibility quickly, communicate technical concepts effectively, and convert opportunities into long-term partnerships. This individual will be responsible not only for identifying opportunities, but also for helping design, secure, coordinate, and oversee field-based pilot implementations as part of the broader sales process. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Identify, pursue, and secure new customer relationships across target industries Generate leads through proactive outreach, networking, referrals, and industry engagement Develop and maintain a disciplined, active sales pipeline Clearly communicate the value and application of company solutions to customers and prospects Drive consistent follow-up to advance opportunities and close business Leverage existing industry relationships while building new market connections Pilot Development & Execution Design, propose, and secure pilot opportunities with prospective customers Coordinate and oversee pilot implementations in field environments Monitor results, gather data, and communicate outcomes to customers and leadership Use pilot success to help convert prospects into long-term customer relationships Customer Relationship Management Serve as a primary point of contact throughout the customer lifecycle Build and maintain strong, trust-based customer relationships Ensure customer satisfaction and long-term product success Identify opportunities for account growth and expansion Maintain an accurate and up-to-date CRM system Internal Coordination & Accountability Track sales activity, customer interactions, and pipeline progress within company systems Maintain organized documentation of communications, action items, and follow-up activities Provide regular updates regarding pipeline health, pilot activity, and revenue development Coordinate effectively with internal leadership and operational resources Demonstrate strong personal accountability, responsiveness, and execution discipline Field Representation Meet with customers both in person and virtually to present, educate, and support solutions Represent the company professionally and credibly in all interactions Gather customer feedback and communicate insights internally Support seamless onboarding and customer implementation efforts Travel as needed to develop customer relationships, support pilot opportunities, and expand the company's presence across a national territory Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, business development, account management, or related customer-facing leadership roles Demonstrated success generating leads, building relationships, and closing business opportunities Experience within industries such as wastewater systems, environmental services, industrial operations, commercial kitchens, chemical applications, facilities services, or technical field sales strongly preferred Degree in chemistry, engineering, environmental science, industrial operations, or a related technical field preferred but not required Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts in practical, customer-focused environments Strong communication, organizational, and relationship management skills Self-motivated and comfortable operating independently within a field-based role Entrepreneurial mindset balanced with strong accountability and follow-through Strong computer skills with basic Microsoft Office applications, email, and CRM systems What We're Looking For We are looking for a relationship-driven professional who can generate and close new business, follow through consistently, and build trust with customers over time.
