Job Description

Description Athena Hospitality Group is a growing hotel management company committed to achieving results through strong relationships, exceptional guest experiences, and a people-first culture. We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead revenue-driving efforts across one or more hotel properties in the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati market.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Sales is responsible for driving hotel revenue through strategic sales initiatives, relationship building, market analysis, and proactive business development. This role works closely with property leadership and corporate teams to maximize occupancy, ADR, and overall revenue performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively solicits new business opportunities through prospecting new customers. Uses network channels to open doors to new customers. Seeks methods and key business activities to penetrate the markets and find profitable ways to bring this business to the hotel through phone calls, appointments, tours, written and electronic correspondence, and entertainment. Develops long-term relationships with venues and potential clients by maintaining disciplined verbal and written communications. Provide excellent customer service, networking to uncover other decision makers. Respond to RFPs. Quote pricing, meeting with clients and hotel department managers to plan function details, space requirements, food service and decor. Maintains detailed information of all sales activity into the property's CRM system. Responds to guest inquiries and coordinates special arrangements and requests. Provides oversight and leadership to the sales department. Coaches and mentors, the sales staff. Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority, otherwise refers the matter to the General Managers. Notifies supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events or circumstances. Participate in associate functions, client and guest events, and community events in order to build positive relationships with client decision makers and influencers for the hotels within assigned markets. Attend and/or lead weekly sales/operations meetings. Complete daily/weekly and monthly sales call reports. Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Direct hospitality or hotel Cluster Sales experience (minimum 2 years). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work as a team player with excellent guest relations skills. College degree and/or equivalent sales experience required. Demonstrated ability to influence customers and provide excellent service.
EXPERIENCE
At least 2 years of progressive hotel sales experience in a specific market; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience. Direct hotel location experience in sales will be extremely helpful.
JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read, and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week and weekends necessary to meet business requirements.
