Position:
Broad Function The Business Development Manager is responsible for obtaining new clients and business as well as fostering relationships with existing customers in an effort to expand and protect existing services provided. This position is responsible for sales in an assigned territory and collaborating with area operations management. Essential Functions Promote, demonstrate, and instill Brock's Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business Execute strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate & regional goals Execute business plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements Assemble deliverables prepared before passing to client Possess a thorough understanding of Brock's capabilities, identify business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to the line of business Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities Effectively convey Brock's message in written/verbal sales discussions Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change Responsible for establishing plant/job-site relationships Accountable for knowing and understanding the "well-being" of assigned plant sites Identify customer issues and works with the operational lead to provide resolution Utilize subject matter experts within the sales function Ensure assigned action items are completed within the timeframe identified from the account management side Develop solid working relationship with the operations team for the good of the customer and corporation Utilize CRM to track and prepare reports of business opportunities Represents company at trade association meetings to promote services Working Conditions Working conditions include outdoor and indoor field, yard, and shop locations Working indoors in an office environment Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment is necessary Frequent travel as required Skills & Abilities Excellent communication skills combined with strong business acumen to engage customers and to communicate complex ideas clearly, simply, and convincingly Ability to demonstrate the highest personal integrity and ethical standards at all times Must focus on the fundamentals of sound / ethical business practices Demonstrate critical thinking skills required of a professional business leader Ability to develop and implement standard work practices Ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines Ability to manage multiple projects and effectively meet deadlines, while adhering to the highest level of Safety performance/standards Education & Experience Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in outside sales and business development Specialty Services background preferred (maintenance services, painting, insulation, scaffolding, etc.) Bilingual in Spanish a plus
