Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Customer Sales Manager to join our growing team! The Customer Sales Manager will play a key role in driving business growth through new business generation, customer development, and achieving team sales goals. In this role, you will lead and develop a team of sales professionals focused on building customer relationships, driving revenue growth, and delivering exceptional service within a fast-paced freight brokerage environment. You will oversee day-to-day customer sales activities, mentor and develop sales representatives, and collaborate cross-functionally to support profitability, customer satisfaction, and long-term business growth. This position combines hands-on business development, sales leadership, and strategic customer engagement in a fast-paced and professional environment. Success in this role will be measured by team sales performance, revenue growth, customer retention, and the continued development of a high-performing sales culture.
Job Responsibilities:
Prospect, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the transportation and logistics market, with a focus on the food and beverage industry. Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Customer Sales Representatives, fostering a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement. Effectively utilize multiple channels (phone, networking, email, etc.) to identify and establish two-way communication with key decision makers. Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales goals and initiatives. Manage and report on sales pipeline, forecasting 30-60-90 revenue. Complete RFQ's and bids to compete for business within accounts. Establish and track sales KPIs, quotas, and performance metrics for the customer sales team. Lead by example through high outbound sales activity including prospecting calls, networking, email outreach, and customer meetings. Generate revenue by actively prospecting, engaging, and building long-term relationships with shippers, manufacturers, and key decision-makers while promoting AITI's freight brokerage and logistics solutions. Demonstrate a strong understanding of the freight sales process and key strategies for market penetration by developing rapport with prospective customers. Traveling as necessary to maintain and meet with prospects/customers and train/lead Sales Representatives Other duties as required by the business.
Job Requirements:
3+ years' proven experience in the transportation/logistics industry. 2+ years' experience in a strategic leadership and/or sales role directly supervising employees. Ability to travel approximately up to 10-20%. Demonstrated ability to analyze data to translate results into numbers and solutions. Previous experience with an ERP/CRM system, Microsoft Office or Transportation Software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Customer Service Attitude. Highly developed sense of integrity and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Understands a sense of urgency around resolving customer questions and concerns. Displays a passion for professional selling and people. Candidates with a proven track record of success and an established book of business preferred.
