Job Summary This position is responsible for planning and directing the activities of the sales team to produce new accounts in the solid waste industry. This role is ultimately responsible for selecting and developing personnel to perform to agency standards across five operations in Missouri, Arkansas and Louisianna. Develop account strategies, territory planning, and administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Responsible for orientation and sales training programs. Maintains customer focus and builds trusting relationships among the sales team and customers. Exemplifies the company's goals and values in all communication with the sales team and customers. Responsible for selecting, training, leading, and motivating, the sales team to achieve or exceed assigned performance goals. Ensures that each step of the sales process is operating at maximum efficiency to meet or exceed all sales goals. Spends time cultivating relationships with business leaders and municipalities to grow the business. Facilitates sales meetings to provide increased communication and motivation of the sales force Develops a monthly plan for lead generation and sales activities. Acts as a resource to the sales team in contract opportunities and proposals. Assist the sales team with contract negotiations, closing the sale, and developing marketing plans for contract accounts. Analyze and interpret reports and statistical information used to determine account profitability. Participates in education and training conferences on selling and marketing programs. Coordinates and assists in leading sales meetings to include site selection and agenda preparation. Keeps informed of new products, services, and other general information of interest to customers. Checks on competitive activity and develops new methods of attaining leads and assisting the sales team in attaining new accounts. Understands the products, services, competitors, and clientele within the region and industry. Troubleshoots problems and coordinates with other departments. Answers questions and handles complaints. Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time. Work Environment This job operates in the field as well as in a professional office environment. This role routinely operates a vehicle, and uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stand, and drive. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Travel This position requires up to 50% travel. Frequent travel outside the local area and overnight. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field At least three years of sales leadership experience Solid waste industry experience. Uniform rental industry experience. Food Service industry experience. Valid Driver's License Preferred Education and Experience Five years of experience leading a sales team
