Grubb was founded in the 1960's with a basic concept, which was to provide high quality crane rental services, equipment, manpower and superior responsiveness to our customers. Grubb is one of the largest privately owned and operated crane rental companies in the nation. Multiple locations serve Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and surrounding states with crane rentals and service.
Description Summary:
A Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading, coaching and building strong relationship between Sales Staff and Branch Management. They will work in unison with Branches to secure and retain profitable business for the company, as well as maximizing the sales team to its full potential. This individual operates under limited supervision, and directly reports to the Sales Director. The Regional Sales Manager is expected to work as necessary to perform duties required to include working as long as necessary to perform his/her job responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Assists in the recruiting of sales team. Assists customers in resolving technical issues. Mentors the sales team in their assigned region. Support Branch Managers. Build localized relationships with each branch in assigned region. Monitors the overall and individual performance of sales team. Achieves growth while hitting sales targets by successfully managing the sales team. Builds and promotes a strong, long-lasting customer relationship. Schedules meetings and sales calls with customers, potential customers, and sales team. Travel to customer locations and job sites to make sales calls and follow up on customer needs. Attends industry exhibits, demonstrations, and networking activities with various trade associations. Monitors new product developed by our manufacturers and competitors. Ensures literature, brochures and pricing sheets are organized and up to date. Verifies equipment is delivered as ordered and in a timely manner. Works closely with Credit Manager to resolve credit/payment issues. Adheres to Company safety program. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Sales.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Essential:
Must be proficient with basic computer skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have proficient oral and written communication skills. Must have excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills. Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test.
Desired:
Prefer candidates with at least a bachelor's degree. Prefer candidates with at least 5 years of sales experience, preferably in heavy equipment sales. Prefer candidates with at 2 years of people leadership and management experience. Knowledge of heavy equipment/crane rental business.
Physical Demands:

Approximately 20% of time spent in usual office conditions; Approximately 80% of time spent in external conditions which may include temperature variance, elevated noise levels, dust and fumes; Travel is required. Work Environment:
