Description and Requirements Director, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) The Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) is hiring a Director of S&OP to align demand, supply, and inventory across our ISG ISO ESMB organization. Reporting to the Executive Director, ESMB Commercial Group Operations, this leader connects GEO planning, Sales, and the Global Supply Chain (GSC) to translate sales forecasts, demand plans, and incoming supply into a single executable plan
- and leads a team of demand, supply, and inventory planning experts who own its execution.
Key Responsibilities 1. Own the S&OP Process Lead and manage the monthly S&OP cycle
Facilitate cross-functional S&OP meetings
Build consensus across business functions on a single, executable plan
Lead and develop a team of demand, supply, and inventory planning experts (full people-management responsibility) 2. Demand & Supply Alignment Develop and refine sales forecasts (short
- mid
- and long-term)
Align forecasts with production capacity and inventory plans
Balance supply and demand while meeting service and cost objectives
Ensure production and capacity plans meet demand
Support product launches and supply readiness 3.
Manage Inventory and Excess Optimize inventory levels and availability to meet service and turn targets
Identify excess inventory by reviewing stock positions against demand forecasts, and partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations on mitigation
- price adjustments, promotions, bundling, and liquidation
- to protect profitability 4.
Initiate and Manage Buy Aheads Partner with GEO Planning and GSC to develop and execute strategic component buy-aheads ahead of supply constraints or pricing inflections
Monitor buy-ahead inventory positions against unit and margin targets, and adjust as conditions change 5. Continuous Improvement and Transformation Drive transformation initiatives across the planning organization, including:
Improving forecasting processes and planning tools
Implementing data-driven planning systems and automation
Advancing S&OP process maturity against industry benchmarks 6. Analytics & Performance Management Analyze forecast accuracy, demand variability, and supply constraints to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities
Define, track, and report S&OP KPIs (forecast accuracy, plan attainment, inventory turns, service levels) to executive leadership
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or relevant degree
8+ years previous experience in supply chain
Previous experience in a planning role
ERP / planning tools (e.g., SAP IBP, Blue Yonder, etc.)
Strong understanding of supply chain processes
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong communication skills at all levels, including with cross-functional executives
Ability to quickly solve ambiguous problems with limited data by utilizing analytic skills and judgment gained during prior experiences
Requires strategic agility, business acumen, and functional expertise to resolve problems of highly complex nature
