Roth Design Remodeling is seeking an experienced, motivated Sales Manager to lead and develop our sales and design teams while driving profitable growth and an exceptional client experience. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on coaching teams, improving systems, and creating accountability — not personal selling. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, strong communicator, and proven leader with experience managing high-performing teams in remodeling, construction, design build, or consultative sales environments. Position Overview The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance, development, and accountability of the sales team, estimator, and architectural designer. This role ensures a healthy pipeline of profitable work while supporting company growth goals and maintaining a high standard of customer experience. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations. Key Responsibilities 1. Leadership & Strategy Partner with senior management to develop and execute the company's strategic and annual sales plans Establish clear sales goals, KPIs, metrics 'snapshot' reports, and tracking methods for all team members Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline projections, report regularly to leadership Monitor market trends, competition, and external factors impacting sales performance Recommend and implement strategies to improve sales, profitability, and market position Lead weekly sales meetings and contribute to company-wide meetings Foster a high-performance, positive team culture 2. Sales Management & Execution Develop, implement, and maintain sales processes, systems, and standards Ensure compliance with company policies and sales procedures Assist in closing challenging deals and improving conversion rates Oversee compensation structure to maintain target cost of sales (8-10%) Review and approve commission reports Serve as the administrator for sales enablement software (Ingage.io), ensuring brand consistency and content accuracy Partner with the sales team to create tailored, compelling presentations that drive sales Ensure team adheres to accurate and timely client file updates in CRM (BuilderTrend) Participate in job close out meetings (debriefs) and TQM presentations 3. Talent Management Recruit, hire, and onboard sales team members, estimators, and architectural designers based on growth projections Coach, mentor, and develop team members to meet and exceed sales targets Develop individual sales plans and ongoing training programs Support sales team through regularly scheduled sales training including role playing and ride-alongs Oversee performance management, including reviews, incentives, and disciplinary actions Implement performance improvement plans (PIPs) as needed Educate team on financing options to maximize sales opportunities Coordinate with the Architectural Designer to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality design deliverables that align with sales goals 4. Marketing & Lead Management Monitor lead flow, conversion rates, and sales pipeline health Partner with marketing to meet lead generation goals Ensure timely and effective lead handling and reassignment when needed Drive self-generated lead initiatives to reduce dependency on company leads Support events, home shows, and promotional activities Implement lead follow-up and re-engagement ("rehash") programs 5. Pre-Production Oversight Review and approve binders prior to sale to ensure scope, design plans, estimate, and feasibility align with company standards After sale, ensure accurate and timely development of build plans and sign off of material selections Train team on pre-production processes and ensure adherence Collaborate with production leadership to maintain smooth project transitions 6. Financial Performance Support production and sales teams with change orders, customer issues, and collections Collaborate with estimator to ensure estimated gross profit margins are maintained to company standards Monitor project profitability and gross margin performance Participate in job costing and financial review meetings Develop corrective action plans when profitability targets are not met 7. Customer Experience & Quality Monitor client satisfaction through surveys and feedback Address escalated customer service issues collaboratively Conduct periodic job site visits to ensure quality and client satisfaction Ensure proper follow-up, walk-throughs, and communication throughout the project lifecycle Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business or related field (preferred) Proven experience in sales leadership and strategy execution Strong background in customer relationship management (CRM) Experience managing and developing high-performing teams Experience in residential remodeling, design build, or high-value consultative sales preferred Sandler Selling System or similar sales methodology certification is a plus Core Competencies Leadership, coaching, accountability, and team development Strong sales acumen Results-driven with strong analytical and KPI management skills Strategic thinking and problem-solving Excellent communication and negotiation skills Organization, prioritization, and follow-through Customer-focused mindset Adaptability, initiative, and sound decision-making Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office products Ability to quickly learn BuilderTrend (CRM) and Ingage (sales presentation) software Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary Performance-based bonus opportunities Health benefits Paid time off Professional development opportunities Leadership growth potential Career Growth This role offers the opportunity to grow into senior leadership positions, including Director of Sales.
