Posted May 13, 2026 Director of New Construction (Fire Protection / Mechanical Construction) Northern New Jersey About the Opportunity We're partnering with a rapidly growing fire protection contractor generating $40M+ in annual revenue and scaling toward $60M+, with a strong backlog of work and a clear path for continued expansion. We're hiring a Director of New Construction to lead and scale the division responsible for estimating, sales, and preconstruction. This is a high-impact leadership role with direct visibility to executive leadership and full ownership over growth, team performance, and profitability. Compensation aligned with leadership impact What You'll Be Leading Oversee the New Construction division (sales + estimating)
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of estimators and preconstruction staff
Drive revenue growth, backlog expansion, and market penetration
Own bid strategy, pricing, and proposal review
Build and maintain relationships with:
General Contractors
Developers
Owners & Engineers
Partner with operations, design, and leadership to ensure successful project execution
Manage forecasting, WIP, margins, and overall business performance What We're Looking For Experience in construction leadership, estimating, or preconstruction
Background in fire protection, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or specialty contracting
Proven track record of driving revenue and managing teams
Strong understanding of:
Estimating & bid strategy
Job costing & margins
Backlog forecasting
Ability to operate at both strategic + hands-on levels Nice to Have (Not Required): Fire sprinkler experience
Experience with tools like Sage, Procore, Salesforce, ConstructConnect Strong leaders from adjacent trades are encouraged to apply. What Success Looks Like Consistent revenue growth + backlog expansion

Base Salary:
$150,000•$200,000
Bonus:
$30,000•$100,000+ (performance-based)
Total Comp Potential:
$180,000•$275,000+
