Job Description
As a Business Development Manager at Freedom Ford, part of the Generation Auto Group, you will play a key leadership role in driving customer engagement, appointment generation, and overall sales support efforts for the dealership. You will oversee daily Business Development Center (BDC) operations while ensuring customers receive an exceptional experience through phone, email, text, and chat communication. This position is responsible for helping lead customer communication strategies, supporting the sales team, and contributing to dealership growth and performance goals.
What You'll Do:
The primary functions of this role include, but are not limited to: Manage and oversee daily BDC operations and customer communication processes. Respond promptly to customer inquiries through phone, email, text, and chat communication. Build rapport with customers, overcome objections, and motivate customers to take the next step in the sales process. Schedule appointments for customers to visit the dealership for test drives, vehicle demonstrations, and sales consultations. Monitor appointment activity, customer follow-up, and lead management performance. Support and coach team members on phone skills, follow-up techniques, and customer service standards. Ensure all customer information, notes, and activity are accurately maintained within the CRM system. Work closely with Sales Managers and Sales Consultants to improve appointment retention and showroom traffic. Assist in developing processes and strategies to improve lead conversion and customer satisfaction. Utilize dealership software systems efficiently, including CRM tools and CDK experience preferred. Help support dealership sales goals through strong communication, organization, and leadership. In summary, the Business Development Manager is responsible for helping drive customer communication efforts, supporting dealership sales growth, and ensuring a consistent and professional customer experience. This role plays a vital part in maintaining strong follow-up processes, team accountability, and overall BDC success.What We're Looking For:
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities. Strong computer skills with proficient typing and multitasking ability. Ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members in a fast-paced environment. Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic. Friendly, energetic, attentive, and customer-focused personality. Comfortable handling a multi-line phone system and high-volume communication environment. Prior automotive BDC or CRM experience preferred. CDK experience is a plus, but not required. Ford brand experience is a plus, but not required. Self-motivated, dependable, organized, and detail-oriented. Ability to problem solve, prioritize tasks, and maintain accountability across the department.What We'll Give You:
