Job Description
Landscape Director of Sales - Design/Build Division The Landscape Director of Sales - Design/Build Division is responsible for leading the sales and design operations of the company's landscape design/build division to drive profitable growth, exceptional client experiences, and operational alignment. This role oversees a team of Sales/Design Consultants while ensuring consistent sales execution, accurate project development, strong collaboration with operations, and alignment with the company's vision, culture, and strategic objectives. The Director is responsible for developing people, improving systems and processes, and ensuring the division consistently achieves revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction goals. 1. Lead, Manage & Accountability Communicate and reinforce the company vision, core values, quarterly priorities, and sales expectations across the design/build division. Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4-5 Sales/Design Consultants through clear expectations, accountability, performance management, and ongoing mentorship. Conduct regular pipeline reviews, sales meetings, one-on-one coaching sessions, and performance evaluations. Foster a high-performing sales culture focused on professionalism, responsiveness, collaboration, and client experience. Ensure team members operate in alignment with company culture, sales standards, and customer service expectations. 2. Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth Lead daily sales execution to achieve divisional revenue, gross margin, and closing ratio targets. Oversee the full sales lifecycle including lead management, consultations, estimating, proposal development, contract negotiation, and project handoff. Partner with Marketing and Business Development teams to maximize lead generation opportunities and improve conversion performance. Monitor sales activity metrics, pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, and overall sales effectiveness. Assist with strategic selling on high-value or complex design/build opportunities. Ensure pricing strategies and sales practices align with profitability goals and market positioning. 3. Design/Build Operations Collaboration Partner closely with Operations and Production teams to ensure seamless transition from sold work to project execution. Collaborate on scheduling, backlog management, production capacity planning, and project prioritization. Ensure estimates, scopes of work, budgets, and project expectations are accurate and aligned before production begins. Support continuous communication between sales, design, and operations teams to improve project outcomes and customer satisfaction. Help resolve client concerns, change orders, scope adjustments, and project-related issues as needed. 4. Strategic Planning & Process Improvement Develop and execute divisional sales growth strategies aligned with company objectives and market opportunities. Identify target markets, service opportunities, and expansion initiatives within the design/build segment. Evaluate and improve sales systems, CRM usage, estimating processes, proposal standards, and client communication workflows. Implement best practices and process improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and profitability. Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to support strategic decision-making. 5. Financial Performance & KPI Management Manage divisional sales performance against revenue goals, gross profit targets, closing ratios, and average sale metrics. Monitor and analyze key sales and operational KPIs to identify trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities. Ensure estimates and proposals meet margin expectations and company financial standards. Assist leadership with annual budgeting, forecasting, and sales planning initiatives. Maintain accountability for contract accuracy, pricing consistency, and profitable project acquisition. 6. Team Development & Client Experience Recruit, onboard, and develop top-performing sales and design talent within the division. Create clear development plans and career growth opportunities for Sales/Design Consultants. Promote a customer-first culture focused on responsiveness, communication, professionalism, and relationship building. Ensure consistent follow-up, client communication standards, and overall customer satisfaction throughout the sales process. Support retention and long-term client relationship development through exceptional service and project outcomes.
