Our client is a global manufacturer and service provider specializing in vertical access, lifting, and industrial work platform solutions for the construction, industrial, and infrastructure markets. They are searching for a Business Development Manager to join their team ASAP!
Salary:
$140-170k base salary + bonus + benefits
Job Summary:
A global industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth across North America within the construction and access equipment market. This role will focus on developing new business opportunities, growing existing customer relationships, and supporting sales strategy for specialized equipment solutions used on large-scale construction and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have experience selling capital equipment or technical solutions into the construction, industrial, or infrastructure sectors and be comfortable operating in a highly customer-facing role with significant travel.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and grow new business opportunities across assigned markets and territories Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, rental companies, project stakeholders, and key accounts Promote specialized construction equipment solutions that improve jobsite productivity, safety, and efficiency Support customers with equipment recommendations, project planning, and technical sales consultations Review project specifications, drawings, and customer requirements to provide tailored solutions Collaborate with internal sales, engineering, operations, and leadership teams to support project execution Manage sales pipeline activity, forecasting, proposals, pricing, and contract negotiations Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities Participate in industry associations, trade events, and customer meetings to strengthen market presence Support ongoing aftermarket opportunities including equipment services, parts, and rental solutions
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field preferred MBA desired 5+ years of business development or consultative sales experience Experience selling capital equipment, industrial products, or construction-related solutions preferred Strong background in relationship management, negotiations, and solution-based selling Ability to interpret technical information, project plans, or construction specifications Comfortable working within a fast-paced, global organization Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite Financial and business acumen with understanding of margins, forecasting, and contract management Willingness to travel extensively throughout North America (approximately 60%)
