Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for increasing the market share of the brands we represent by developing and maintaining strong relationships with key retailers and market managers. This highly visible role involves presenting and promoting our clients' products to retail stores from Akron, OH to Columbus, OH and in Western Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh area) . As a trusted advocate for our clients' brands, the Territory Sales Manager will drive distribution by securing product placement, ensuring optimal shelf positioning and merchandising, and overseeing the successful execution of promotional programs. This position regularly interacts with retail customers and collaborates closely with various members of the Alliance team to support client objectives and drive sales growth. The ideal candidate will possess a professional, knowledgeable, and customer-focused approach, with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers at multiple levels within an organization. Successful Territory Sales Managers are highly organized and demonstrate a proven track record of success in retail sales and the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. Because this role operates with a high degree of autonomy, the successful candidate will be self-motivated, disciplined, energetic, and results-driven. Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both individuals and groups, are essential.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct sales calls at 8-10 retail locations per week within the assigned territory. Call on independent natural and conventional food retailers. Present and sell multiple grocery, frozen, and perishable product lines to independent retailers to secure distribution and shelf placement. Perform product audits and assess in-store execution at accounts throughout the territory. Maintain and optimize product placement, shelf presence, and merchandising standards. Merchandise products, build displays, execute resets, and stock shelves as needed. Utilize company and retailer software systems during all store visits to document activities and opportunities. Coordinate and execute advertisements, promotions, and other sales-driving initiatives. Develop and maintain strong relationships with retailers and key decision-makers. Identify opportunities to increase sales, distribution, and market share for represented brands. Provide timely reporting, account updates, and market feedback to management and clients. Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain 100& client satisfaction.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the natural and organic food and beverage industry. Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory, including overnight travel, up to 25% of the time. Self-motivated professional with strong sales, relationship-building, and merchandising skills. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a field-based sales environment requiring frequent in-person customer visits. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. Dependable, results-oriented, and committed to achieving goals with a positive, proactive attitude. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Proven track record of success in sales, business development, account management, presentations, and closing opportunities. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required, as the position involves frequent travel to customer locations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as database systems, customer portals, and other business software. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage territory activities efficiently. Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers/copiers, calculators, and mobile devices. Strong presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, colleagues, management, and clients. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
