THE ROLE
For the past 24 years, we have delighted customers in our local market and developed a reputation for quality and value. We are now ready to take our business to the next level through an intentional sales expansion. We are looking for a sales professional to own the revenue generating engine of our business. This role is reserved for an experienced commercial sales professional who brings with them the skills to develop opportunities, close deals, and lead a multi-disciplinary sales organization. This individual will be responsible for managing the sales process from lead generation through estimate development, resulting in securing a signed construction contract. The successful execution of this role requires an individual to onboard with an established foundation in commercial construction sales experience, as well as a willingness to learn MBI's process, procedures, and tools to execute the role. This individual is expected to make regular customer visits, both in and out of town, manage a team of both in-office and fully-remote team members, and support business leadership responsibilities with in-office peers, so this is will be a hybrid-location role.
THE COMPANY
Metal Building Industries is a commercial steel construction company that specializes in projects that utilize complex structural steel and metal building systems to create highly unique structures. Our unique blend of design, engineering, procurement and installation capabilities allows us to tackle complex total-package PEMB and steel in the commercial market. From our Tulsa-based office, we focus our efforts primarily in the greater northeast Oklahoma area, but do execute work on a national level. We offer competitive compensation with benefits and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for a sales professional that wants to lead a capable, established team to a successful outcome. We sell a technical, engineered product in a competitive market, so the ideal candidate will have a mixture of hard-nosed sales aggression and a mind for solving problems, both technical and economic. Additionally, this is a team sport, so a demonstrated ability of managing a team that includes marketing, engineering, and estimating team members will be a key consideration in our decision. Lastly, we have spent the last 2 years honing our sales process, and while it isn't perfect, it is producing great results (50% yr/yr growth in 2026). The ideal candidate will mix their ability and humility to learn what has been working and build upon it, rather than starting from scratch.
