Catering and Event Sales Manager

Philadelphia Marriott West in Conshohocken, PA is seeking a Catering and Event Sales Manager. The primary responsibility of this role is to proactively sell catered events for the hotel. This include, but not limited to coordinating events with clients, as well as working with the operations department during events to ensure client satisfaction. The Catering and Event Sales Manager is the clients main contact throughout the planning of catered events and will help develop menus, procure rentals, decorate banquet rooms, and coordinate transportation, as needed. Individuals interested in this position must have at least 2 years experience as a Sales, Events, or Conference Planning Manager in similar industry or at a full-service hotel or resort.

• Must have authorization to work in US
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
• Able to handle various job functions, multi tasking and ability to work under pressure with grace and efficiency
• Knowledge in using CI/TY, Marsha and PMS is an advantage

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain relationship with clients to generate new and repeat business
• Meet with clients to understand their needs and expectation and provide customized catering solutions.
• Prepare and review proposals and contracts for clients to ensure expectations are met.
• Ensure a prompt and professional response and follow up before, during and after the event.
• Coordinate with hotel's F&B and Banquet team to ensure that all events are executed flawlessly and accounting team for accurate billing.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, attend trade shows to network and generate new business
• Create and nurture teamwork by collaborating with fellow sales team, providing support in order to achieve the teams target and goal effectively.
• Maximize training opportunities both online/virtual and in person for continuous improvement and through mentorship and feedback.
• Other duties as assigned.
