Business Development Manager WasteAway Site Services Location:
Mebane, NC / Field-based About WasteAway Site Services WasteAway Site Services provides dependable jobsite solutions for general contractors, builders, remodelers, and developers across central North Carolina. Our core services include roll-off dumpsters, portable toilets, and temporary fence , helping customers keep their jobsites clean, safe, compliant, and running smoothly. We are a growing, locally owned company that values responsiveness, reliability, and making life easier for customers who need a site services partner they can count on. Position Overview WasteAway Site Services is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Business Development Manager to grow our customer base and increase revenue across our primary service lines: dumpsters, portable toilets, and temporary fence . This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the field, building relationships, visiting jobsites, and developing long-term accounts with general contractors, builders, remodelers, and developers . The Business Development Manager will focus on identifying new opportunities, winning new business, and expanding existing customer relationships through dependable follow-up and strong knowledge of our services. Key Responsibilities Prospect and develop new business with general contractors, builders, remodelers, and developers . Sell WasteAway's primary site services, including roll-off dumpsters, portable toilets, and temporary fence . Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, project managers, superintendents, estimators, purchasing managers, and business owners. Visit active jobsites, contractor offices, builder communities, and project locations to identify service opportunities. Prepare, present, and follow up on quotes for new projects, recurring accounts, and multi-service jobsite packages. Grow revenue by converting one-service customers into multi-service customers where appropriate. Maintain an organized sales pipeline and track leads, follow-ups, proposals, and closed opportunities. Work closely with operations, dispatch, and customer service to ensure customer expectations are communicated clearly. Identify upcoming construction projects and build relationships early in the planning or preconstruction process. Represent WasteAway professionally in the field, at networking events, trade groups, and customer meetings. Communicate customer feedback, market trends, competitor activity, and pricing opportunities to leadership. Support customer retention by staying engaged with key accounts and helping resolve issues quickly. Ideal Candidate The right person for this role is a self-starter who enjoys outside sales, understands the pace of construction, and knows how to build trust with customers. They are comfortable walking jobsites, making cold calls, following up consistently, and creating value for customers who need reliable dumpster, portable toilet, and temporary fence service. Experience in construction, site services, waste, equipment rental, fencing, sanitation, trucking, logistics, or B2B outside sales would be a strong fit. Qualifications 2+ years of outside sales, business development, account management, construction, rental, waste, sanitation, fencing, equipment, logistics, or related experience preferred. Experience selling to general contractors, builders, remodelers, developers, or construction-related customers is a strong plus. Familiarity with dumpsters, portable toilets, temporary fence, construction services, or equipment rental is preferred but not required. Comfortable making cold calls, visiting jobsites, and developing new customer relationships. Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills. Ability to manage multiple leads, quotes, projects, and customer conversations at the same time. Professional, reliable, and comfortable working independently in the field. Basic computer skills and ability to use CRM, email, spreadsheets, and quoting tools. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Knowledge of the Triangle, Triad, or central North Carolina construction market is a plus. What Success Looks Like New general contractor, builder, remodeler, and developer accounts are added consistently. Revenue grows across dumpsters, portable toilets, and temporary fence . Customers increasingly use WasteAway for multiple site services. Quotes are followed up on quickly and professionally. The sales pipeline is active, organized, and moving. Operations receives clear, accurate information before deliveries, services, or pickups. Customers view WasteAway as responsive, easy to work with, and dependable. Compensation Compensation is negotiable based on experience/relationships in the industry, and may include a base salary plus commission or performance-based incentives, depending on experience.
