Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Director of Business Development. This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility and will have the option to work an in person or hybrid schedule. The Director of Business Development will lead the growth of Leonardo DRS's Maneuver Support campaign—driving new and existing customer relationships, capture strategy, and bookings achievement across logistics/sustainment, cargo loading, tactical bridging, unmanned ground systems, and heavy manufacturing for DoD customers. Leveraging deep market and technology expertise, this leader will perform competitive analysis, shape capture and proposal efforts, and coordinate across Program Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing to position the portfolio for sustained mission-relevant wins.
Job Responsibilities Promote and foster continued business development opportunities with existing customers
Expand and grow business base by developing new customer relationships
Build and maintain a multi-year opportunity pipeline in concert with the current strategic plan
Support the Company's short and long-term strategic plan to meet or exceed the Bookings forecast under direction from senior leadership
Overall responsibility for the accuracy and achievement of the Bookings Forecast and Plan
Maintain contact with prospective, new, and existing customers on a regular basis
Represent the company at relevant trade shows, conferences, and symposia
Perform competitive market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs
Formulate and implement marketing plans and programs, both short and long range to ensure achievement of financial objectives and product/services innovation
Support and monitor the Bid and Proposal Budgets
Assist in the development of the planning, designing and implementing of business plans, such as, capture plans, proposal activities
Work closely with other departments and/or functions (e.g. Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, etc) to coordinate customer activities, and market strategies
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Make presentations on Company portfolio of products and services
Attend business meetings as requested
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in marketing or engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ years of relevant experience Strong leadership and management experience
Master's degree preferred
Highly conversant in US DoD acquisition, contracting, and budgeting processes and regulations
Capture Lead, Price to Win, and Proposal Management experience
Strong interpersonal verbal, written, and presentation skills
Excellent planning and organization, project management, and time management skills
Ability to work on extremely complex problems
Advanced knowledge of Company products, markets and technology
Willing and able to travel 20-25% of the time both domestically and internationally
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment. The salary range for this position is $146,528.00/year- $197,812.00/year for the state of Illinois. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
