The Opportunity The commercial energy market in Texas is fragmented, competitive, and primed for disruption. As Director of Commercial Energy Sales, you will own the pursuit of medium and large commercial customers, engaging senior decision-makers, including owners, operators, and C-suite executives. This role requires a polished enterprise seller who can manage long sales cycles, build relationships across stakeholders, and deliver a consultative, high-trust experience. You'll also own post-sale relationship development to drive renewals and expand wallet share. What You'll Do Build and close 10-15 new commercial accounts per quarter. Lead complex sales cycles averaging 3-6 months, tied to contract expirations. Deliver a consultative, multi-stakeholder sales experience. Collaborate with pricing, product, and operations teams to deliver tailored proposals. Own post-sale relationships and renewals. Travel 30-40%, primarily day trips across Texas. Shape the organization's commercial GTM strategy with field insights. Who You Are You are a high-caliber enterprise seller who wins through strategy, trust, and executive-level influence. 2-5 years minimum experience selling energy plans to mid-market and/or large customers (500 kwh/year minimum) A hunter by trade - you thrive on prospecting, have the daily habits to be relentless about pipeline creation, and pride yourself on consistent, high quality pipeline coverage. A proven closer with documented wins in complex, multi-month sales cycles. Confident selling to owners, operators, and C-level leaders in competitive markets. A strategic advisor, not a transactional seller - you understand how to architect deals with long-term value. You know how to navigate multi-stakeholder dynamics and maintain momentum across long timelines. You're relentless with follow-through, disciplined with pipeline hygiene, and proactive in communication. Commercially minded - you understand margin, timing, competitive positioning, and downstream renewal economics. A relationship-builder who strengthens accounts long after they close. A builder who wants autonomy, impact, and influence over a new commercial engine. This is a role for someone who wants to be a foundational pillar in the company's commercial expansion. What Success Looks Like You exceed quarterly new logo goals. Renewal and expansion rates improve due to strong post-sale relationships.
