The Mitsubishi Chemical Group is seeking a Director of Sales - Composites & Carbon Fiber to lead commercial strategy and execution across the Americas. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for accelerating revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening customer partnerships across innovative industries—including aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing. Why This Role Matters You won't just lead a sales team, you'll define how we grow. This role sits at the center of our Carbon Fiber Division's growth strategy, translating market opportunities into scalable commercial success. You will drive share-of-wallet expansion, new customer acquisition, and cross-portfolio selling across a highly technical and evolving product landscape. What You'll Do Lead Commercial Strategy & Growth Develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned to business goals and market dynamics Identify growth opportunities through market intelligence, segmentation, and competitive analysis Translate strategy into clear targets, quotas, and execution plans Own forecasting, pipeline health, and opportunity management Build & Lead a High-Performance Sales Organization Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Americas sales team Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement Establish and enforce best-in-class sales excellence practices (CRM discipline, key account management, strategic selling) Drive Financial Performance Partner with Product Management and Finance to align on profitability, pricing, and margin optimization Ensure strong deal governance, contract discipline, and commercial compliance Deliver on revenue, margin, and working capital targets Enable Operational Excellence (S&OP) Lead accurate sales forecasting and demand planning Collaborate in S&OP processes to balance customer demand, production, and profitability Shape Market & Business Strategy Monitor and interpret market trends, macroeconomics, and customer behaviors Provide insights to inform annual planning and long-term strategy Act as a key voice in regional and global market intelligence efforts Ensure Risk & Compliance Maintain compliance with export regulations, credit risk policies, and contractual obligations Ensure disciplined execution of commercial agreements and customer commitments What You Bring Experience & Industry Expertise 10+ years of progressive commercial and sales experience in: Carbon fiber, composites, or advanced materials Proven experience leading sales teams across the Americas Strong understanding of: Composite applications and manufacturing processes Target markets such as aerospace, defense, industrials, or sports & leisure Leadership & Commercial Acumen Track record of delivering profitable growth and market expansion Experience building and scaling high-performing sales teams Strong capability in strategic selling, negotiation, and executive influence Technical & Market Insight Knowledge of materials such as prepregs, thermoplastics, specialty resins, and high-strength fibers Familiarity with trends like lightweighting, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing Education Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Science, or Business preferred) Advanced degree is a plus Other Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic and international) Ability to thrive in a global, matrixed environment
What We Offer Base Salary Range:
