Senior Lighting Solutions Consultant Position Summary The Senior Lighting Solutions Consultant is a seasoned, Senior‑level professional responsible for developing, delivering, and supporting comprehensive lighting solutions for commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. This role blends deep technical expertise with strategic account management and consultative engagement to drive long‑term customer value, project success, and sustainable growth. Operating in a salary‑based structure, the Consultant serves as a trusted advisor, partnering with clients to align lighting solutions with operational goals, energy‑efficiency objectives, and budget requirements while contributing to broader business development and market strategy. Key Responsibilities Client Relationship & Account Management Cultivate and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with existing clients by deeply understanding their evolving lighting needs, operational challenges, and growth plans. Act as a primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring a consistent, high‑quality client experience. Identify opportunities for solution expansion, upgrades, and cross‑functional offerings based on client needs. Consultative Lighting Solutions Provide expert, tailored lighting recommendations across a broad portfolio, including LED systems, fixtures, controls, and emerging lighting technologies. Align solutions with client objectives related to energy efficiency, sustainability, performance, compliance, and return on investment. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders Business Development & Market Engagement Identify new business opportunities, target industries, and strategic partnerships that can benefit from advanced lighting solutions. Support growth initiatives through client discovery, solution scoping, and strategic outreach. Analyze market trends, competitive offerings, and customer preferences to inform solution strategy and positioning. Presentations & Proposals Deliver persuasive, professional presentations demonstrating solution benefits, technical capabilities, and financial justification. Develop detailed, customized proposals including pricing models, product specifications, timelines, and implementation considerations. Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure proposal accuracy and feasibility. Negotiation & Project Coordination Lead discussions related to pricing, terms, and project scope to achieve mutually beneficial agreements. Oversee the order lifecycle, including order placement, delivery coordination, and installation support when applicable. Maintain accountability for project execution and client satisfaction from concept through completion. Sales Leadership & Collaboration Provide mentorship, coaching, or guidance to junior consultants or sales professionals, supporting skill development and best practices. Contribute to internal strategy discussions, process improvements, and knowledge sharing. Partner cross‑functionally with marketing, operations, and leadership teams to support organizational goals. Reporting & Performance Insights Prepare regular reports outlining account activity, solution performance, pipeline health, and market observations. Use CRM systems to document engagement, track opportunities, and generate actionable insights. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. 10-15 years of experience in lighting solutions, consultative sales, or a related technical advisory role. Demonstrated success in managing complex accounts and delivering solution‑based outcomes. Comprehensive knowledge of lighting products, energy‑efficient technologies, and industry trends. Strong technical aptitude with the ability to clearly communicate detailed concepts to clients. Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills. Experience using CRM platforms and sales or project tracking tools. Willingness to travel as needed to support clients, projects, and industry engagement. Role Profile The Senior Lighting Solutions Consultant is recognized as a subject‑matter expert and trusted advisor within both the organization and the client community. This role emphasizes strategic value creation, technical excellence, and long‑term partnerships rather than transactional selling, and often serves as a leadership and mentorship anchor within the team. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tuscaloosa, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $46.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
