Job Description

Regional Sales Manager•
Industrial Automation Location:
Remote Midwest•Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, or Illinois Role Overview We are seeking a high‑performing sales professional with experience selling complex industrial automation and digital solutions across life sciences, manufacturing, utilities, and critical infrastructure markets. This role is focused on driving new business, leading consultative sales cycles, and delivering consistent revenue growth through value‑driven solution selling. You will work directly with executive stakeholders, engineering teams, and operations leaders to identify performance gaps, define improvement strategies, and position automation, controls, MES, and data‑driven solutions. Success in this role requires strong technical knowledge, business acumen, and a proven ability to exceed targets. Key Responsibilities Identify and close new opportunities across automation, controls, and smart manufacturing initiatives Lead consultative engagements to uncover operational challenges and align solutions to measurable business results Build and maintain a strong pipeline through proactive prospecting and relationship development Manage the full sales cycle from discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close Partner with engineering and delivery teams to ensure accurate positioning and smooth project handoff Maintain reliable forecasting and accountability across all active opportunities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred 5+ years of experience selling complex automation, controls integration, or digital transformation solutions Proven track record of exceeding quota, with annual bookings of $3M+ Strong understanding of PLC, DCS, SCADA, MES, and OT networking concepts Ability to engage both executive leadership and technical stakeholders Demonstrated success working remotely within a defined territory Willingness to travel approximately 50% Location Requirements Must reside in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, or Illinois Operates from a home office , with regular travel throughout the Midwest Preferred Background Experience selling into manufacturing, utilities, life sciences, or critical infrastructure sectors Exposure to Industry 4.0, data platforms, or advanced analytics solutions Background with automation integrators or engineering consulting firms Compensation Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission On‑Target Earnings (OTE): ~$250,000 Strong upside for high performers, with earnings potential above OTE Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Senior Geotechnical Engineer Columbus
